Wrapping up G-Star in Busan, South Korea

Another awesome day featuring tons of free products, and some of the finest professional gamers you’ll ever see. My feet hurt, my voice is gone and I’m still struggling with my cold, but just to see you guys so happy is totally worth everything.

We had Moon and the WeMade Fox players come down for a nice autograph session at our booth. Lots of people were also blown away by our Starcraft II products – it was hard to tear them away from the PC stations!

To be honest, when I first heard that G-Star was taking place in Busan I was quite skeptical, because it is really far from the capital (Seoul). But now I’m just happy to hang around with everyone in Busan, it’s an awesome place. If you ever have the chance to come to Busan or to G-Star don’t miss out, you won’t regret it.

Here are some photos from Day 3:

Winding down the Tokyo Game Show with Razer|Nerdalert

The Japanese sure know how to plan a game show. The Makuhari Messe was shaking in the presence of gaming fans around the world. I’ve seen crowds in my life but the enthusiasts at the Tokyo Game Show make it look like a swift and decisive Zerg rush.

While the previous day involved an intensely entertaining albeit pedestrian show between WeMade FOX and Vae Victis, the last day of the TGS gave anyone the chance to play alongside and against our players from Seoul. It was a 5-a-side deathmatch in a game of Quake Wars with the FOX players separated 2-3 to each team.

The queue to join in the battle was long and the participants were duly rewarded with tons of Razer swag such as Razer messenger bags and L33T packs.

To be honest, as insanely tiring as the show was, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. The atmosphere was electric and we couldn’t have done it without you fans that came down to say hi and join in with the festivities. It was a great pleasure and we’ll hope to be seeing more of you guys at our future gaming gigs.

It’s time to play Rock/Paper/Scissors!

Happy faces all round.

Until next time, Sayonara!

TGS with Razer|Nerdalert – All manner of awesome

Amidst beautiful weather in Tokyo, the flock of TGS attendees was unrelenting but they managed to find their way into the convention hall in typical orderly Japanese fashion. We noticed a good number of them running past the entry point towards gaming salvation. Our Razer booth immediately garnered tons of attention with Razer fans from all over coming to try our gear, stick on some tattoos and above all, have some good old fun.

The lines were massively long.
And the queue snaked all the way outside.
These bags were gone faster than you can say, “Razer Ichiban!”
A favorite among the Razer faithful at the TGS.

Through interpretive dance, they tried to tell me that Billie Jean were not their lover.
“It’s me! Run-away-from-danger Man!”
Masked Rider
The gunslinging Dante and Vergil from Devil May Cry 3
Master Chief queued up to try Halo: Reach. Apparently, it was based on his old squad mates. Or so he heard.

Aaannnndddd we’re back! The final event of the day was the highly anticipated Counter-Strike match between WeMade FOX and Japan’s very own Vae Victis followed by a massive giveaway of Razer gear. The fans went crazy without a doubt. Funny how it was just a simple game of Rock/Paper/Scissors that got them to their feet asking for more.

The highly anticipated match drew in a very large crowd.
Going through the rules with the judges.
WeMade FOX were on good form. Extremely good form.
A member of Vae Victis thinks of a way to break down the WeMade FOX juggernaut.
Eager fans watch on.
WMF|Bail on a break while waiting to respawn.
Needless to say, WeMade FOX won this friendly match. But not without a classic moment by WMF|Bail due to a cringe-worthy microphone interference.
2 of the tons of autographed prizes that we gave away.
But first, the crowd had to play a game of elimination Rock/Paper/Scissors with our beautiful booth babe.

Japan, you never fail to fascinate me with your wacky games.

Losers sit down until the last man standing wins a prize. This guy in front needs some Razer gear, badly.
Now, for the Razer Orochi!
Even the WeMade FOX guys wanted a piece of the pie!

Who wouldn’t? It’s a Razer Orochi dammit!

Still in the game.
We’ve got a winner!

The day couldn’t get more awesome but who knows? Tomorrow is the last day of the TGS and we’re dying to give out more prizes to fans. We’ve got Razer Destructors, Razer Moray Plus and Razer Nagas to be won on top of uber cool swag.

The boys from WeMade FOX will be making a second appearance on Sunday to go through rounds of Quake Wars with the audience. Don’t worry, some of them will be on your team as you take on the rest of the players in rounds of friendly matches.

Hint: this is another opportunity to add to your Razer collection!

See you guys tomorrow for one big final push!

Tokyo Game Show with Razer|Nerdalert – Business and pleasure

Japan has always been one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever had the privilege to travel to with its long history in gaming and alternative pop culture. Tokyo Game Show bundles everything into one taut package and serves it on a 4 day conveyor belt of awesomeness. The past 2 days have been deemed as the “Business Days” by the TGS organizer which means that entry to this massive annual event is exclusively reserved for members of the press and various business development suits.

Don’t let that fool you into thinking that the show floor wasn’t buzzing with much energy and excitement for all things gaming. TGS has something for everyone, and so did Razer, as throngs of journalists and suits came to ogle at our master showcase.

Soak it all in because Tokyo is beautiful this time of the year.
Despite it being exclusive to the media, it was still bumper to bumper traffic. So to speak.
The first entrants rush in.
“This Razer BlackWidow will be mine!”
Rocking out 81 Keys on the Razer BlackWidow and the quintessential MMORPG weapon, the Razer Naga.
Studies show that the Razer Orca makes your suits look better. True story.
The Japanese media seem to love the RazerImperator/Megasoma combo.
Our booth babe has a tendency to skive in order to game. We wholly approve.
WeMade FOX were to show off their skills with Quake Wars at the WebMoney stage. But not before a show featuring this guy.
If it wasn’t random enough, they decided to dig out this little number.
In preparation for a friendly battle in Quake Wars.
After their gig, they decided to drop by our booth for a little surprise face-off with unsuspecting journalists.
One of the many who couldn’t resist taking pictures with our girls.

Tomorrow the floodgates open and then things are going to get turned up a few notches. WeMade FOX will be making an appearance at the Razer booth on the 18th of September (Saturday) to face-off against Vae Victis, Japan’s premier Counter-Strike team. They will be returning on the next day to take on the challenges of the daring public in various Quake Wars challenges.

Winners will take home Razer gear and attendees will be treated to a bunch of Razer swag, given throughout random moments in the day. If you happen to be in Tokyo, ninja your way down to the Makuhari Messe for an amazing time with fellow gamer kin.

Expect more pictures of fancy cosplayers, manic Razer fans and of course sights and sounds from around the Tokyo Game Show coming to you soon!
