Update on the Razer Onza Xbox 360 Controller

Dear Razer Onza fans,

This is an update on the availability of the Razer Onza Xbox 360 controllers. We literally received thousands and thousands of pre-orders which swamped our systems.

In short, it’s our bad for not anticipating the demand and we’ve been working our butts off to meet the pre-order demand. And we’re pleased to update everyone that the initial lots of pre-orders are being fulfilled as we speak from various warehouses around the world. We are working in overdrive mode and are targeting to complete the shipping of all our pre-orders within the next 14 days as we speak.

Once again, it’s our fault that we didn’t anticipate the demand, but hang in there – once the orders have been shipped out and the dust has settled, we’ll do a little something for our loyal (and patient) supporters. We appreciate your support and faith in us and we’ll be contacting you directly with our mea culpa soon so do stay tuned! I promise it will be better than a hunk of Antimony and better than a slop of Potatoes Au Gratin.

10 Reasons why the Razer Onza pwns the new MS Xbox 360 controller

Update – 16th March 2011

We’re pleased to update everyone that the initial lots of pre-orders are being fulfilled as we speak from various warehouses around the world. We are working in overdrive mode and are targeting to complete the shipping of all our pre-orders within the next 14 days as we speak.

Our Product Evangelist, Hilmar Hahn, is a massive fan of lists. He makes lists of his favourite foods (which he updates daily), Team Fortress 2 hats and even has a list of which list is his favourite among all. Some times he does it at work which he shouldn’t because we pay him to work, not to make lists. Of course he decided to throw a hissy fit and throw replacement mouse feet at us (this is no. 2 on his list of things to do when he gets into a hissy fit) when we told him that .

However this time, his penchant for cataloging things has been put to good use. As one of the main men responsible for the Razer Onza and with the recent release of the updated Xbox 360 controller, Hilmar decided that he wanted to share with the world why he feels that the Razer Onza kicks major butt. To be specific, the new Xbox 360 controller’s butt.

So here we go:

1. The Razer Onza is $49.99. The MS Xbox controller is $65. ‘Nuff said.

2. The Razer Onza’s analog control sticks are resistance adjustable (and extra concave!) while the MS is only…concave..ish.

3. The Razer Onza has 2 Extra Multi-function buttons to pwn with and fully programmable too. No aimbot or rapid-fire though, sorry noobs, this part you’ll have to do yourself.

4. The Razer Onza’s buttons are uber clicky. (harder, better, faster, stronger – sorry Daft Punk). Clicking the MS controller is still like clicking mashed potatoes.

5. The Razer Onza’s uber-ergonomic (can you say ubernomic?) trigger design – now with new improved wider, more concave curves! Gets rid of all stains too (actually, no it doesn’t).

6. The smell of smokin’ rubber – the surface of the Razer Onza is rubberized. None of that plasticky shitty feeling.

7. The Razer Onza D-Pad is already optimized. None of that schizo shifting crap like the MS controller.

8. It gets you laid. Not really. It just looks awesome like any Razer design. So awesome it’s almost illegal. No wait, it is according to the MLG – see #8.5.

8.5.  It’s so good it’s been banned by the MLG even before it’s released. Go figure. If you’re one of the 12045032 gamers that aren’t in the MLG, time for you to get one.

9. It’s not a Microsoft.

10. It’s a Razer.
