Have you been out the whole of last week, lounging around the park reenacting your favourite scenes from Titanic with your friends when you could have been checking out our Cult of Razer Blog for ESWC updates? Shame on you.
Now there’s only going to be one person “flying” and it’s not going to be you. As of today, the King of the World would be Emin Mailian who will be expecting an autographed Razer Goliathus mouse mat in his mailbox due to his love for Razer and gamer girls – not necessarily in the same order. Thank you all for participating.
Today we sit down with one of the veterans of the Mousesports female CS team, Lana “Svetaska” Alexeeva to find out what makes her girls tick, what she likes about this year’s competition and what they do in their free time. Jump right in.
Razer: Hello Lana! Tell us about your time in Paris so far.
Lana: Hi, it’s always nice to be in France. We’ve been here 5 times already and coming for the ESWC is always nice. However, this year, it feels a little bit enclosed. This year it feels like a private party with things being in the hotel convention hall. Usually we like the bigger atmosphere where fans come and cheer for us. It feels really good that way. We feed off the fans’ energy but this year, not so much of that kind of environment.
Razer: What about your performances this year?
Lana: We’re a little down as we only got 4th place; we lost to Millenium from France who surprised us this time with how good they were. It was close and fair play to them but we will come back stronger for sure.
Razer: That’s the spirit! Let’s talk about your team’s activities. Since not all of your teammates live in Moscow, how do you girls train together?
Lana: We try to squeeze in 4-6 hours of training, 5-6 days a week. Since we don’t stay close, we have to train through the internet but we have good sponsors here as well to help us with the potentially high ping levels. Most of the time we play against guys in Russia because we can’t find many good female CS teams here.
Razer: How do you keep up with this gaming career on top of whatever you’re working on full-time in Russia?
Lana: Some of us are studying or working. We try our best to be honest. But for me, I’m training full time to be the best around in CS.
Razer: So how do you girls keep the team spirit going?
Lana: We try go meet once every 2 weeks for those of us who live in Moscow. We stay over, play some CS, but we’re actually just like any normal girls. We go out to eat and drink together and of course, shopping!
Razer: Sounds like girls to me. Well what are your future plans for your team? There have been rumours that the e-Sports scene is shifting to CS:Source very soon.
Lana: Yeah we heard things like that but I would rather play CS 1.6. The community is still strong and as long as there are competitions for 1.6, we’ll be there. We’ll take things one at a time but if everything moves to CSS, well…… we’ll see.
Razer: Well said Lana. Thank you for your time and we wish you all the best.
Lana: Thank you!
The very affable ladies from Team Mousesports have traveled all the way from Russia to be in Paris for the ESWC Grand Finals so we took the opportunity to get them to sign this Razer Goliathus Speed Edition for you fans out there.
To grab this exclusive prize, just email us at cult@razerzone.com with the title “Razer Goliathus autographed by Mouz girls” and tell us why you deserve to win this mouse mat signed by these l337 ladies. Please do include your name, contact number and address. Any emails without these details would lead to our intern being made to listen to 2 hours of Ke$ha so please, spare him the indignity.
Now this is a pretty interesting story, and we wished we were making this up.
Team PGS from Poland recently rang us up with an urgent request to help them out at one of the largest eSports tournament titled “East Games United 2010″ where the country’s best pro-gamers were gathered to battle it out for the CoD Championship title, and asked us for some reinforcements with regards to upgrading their gaming equipment.
Thankfully, huge tournaments, a great team and winning goes together with us like fine wine and cheese, and the end result?
We sent over some of our gear in the nick of time (much thanks to our couriers) and Team PGS walked away with the gold and CoD Grand Champions title.
Sweet.
And it sure looks like we’ll be adding a new line-up very soon to our list of pro teams at our *cough* brand new Team Razer page.
You can read up more about the event at their website. (News post – in Polish) (News Post – translated into English)

Move over Keyboard Cat, there is a new feline star in town. Introducing, Kotk, mousemat reviewer extraordinaire. Presented with a Razer Vespula, Razer Sphex Mousesports Edition and a Razer Destructor, Kotk went on to review the various mouse surfaces in the only way it knows, by pure touch and feel.
Such an old school approach to the reviews should not be overlooked and to that, we salute you Kotk.
The word on the street is that thin is in. We’re talking about our Razer Sphex of course; the thinnest mousing surface ever with an unbelievably high tracking quality to boot.
Good news for you guys out there as this time we have 3 to give out to some lucky winners. No, they’re not just any Sphex mouse mats. These 3 are signed exclusively by WeMadeFOX stars, Nada and Moon themselves! To win one of these mouse mats, just submit some fan art onto our wall page. The image must, however, include the Razer and WeMadeFOX logos and of course steer away from any forms of nudity or profanity. We would prefer to catch a glimpse of your creativity rather than an image of your junk.
All you have to do is go to our Facebook wall and attach a photo and type a comment (to describe your fan art if necessary) and click the big blue button which says “Share”. It’s not exactly rocket science now, is it?
Contest ends Thursday, Feb. 18 2010, 1700hrs US Pacific Time (PCT) so get to drawing those fan art pieces and who knows? You might just have this to add to your collection of exclusive Razer premiums!
You can only participate in this contest if you are a fan of Razer on our Facebook group page. What are you waiting for? Click on the link below to take you to the contest page and join up as a fan. It’s just a click away!
