Remember all those times you played online against an undefeatable opponent so good that you think he might just be a bionic octopus? That octopus was probably Moon and Nada from WeMade FOX. Check out their out-of-this-world hand-eye coordination and APM in our Hax Life Pro Gamer Documentary and maybe you can just pick… up a thing or 200.

With a first prize of US$8,000, the Quake scene is abuzzing with perennial favourites, Cooller, Avek and Cypher all looking to go for gold in this year’s ESWC Grand Finals in Paris. Today, Alexey ‘Cypher’ Yanusheuski from Team Serious Gaming starts his first round of matches in Paris we caught up with him to hear about his preparations for the tournament.
Razer: How has preparations gone for you so far?
Cypher: So far so good. I’ve had too much McDonald’s so that isn’t too good but everything else has been fine.
Razer: How would your describe your group?
Cypher: I know I can get past this one as I know my opponents pretty well. They’re decent but I’ve played them often enough to know how to beat them. The ones to look out for in the end are still Rapha, Cooller and Avek. They’re the top guys.
Razer: How has your manager got you and your teammate Avek in shape?
Cypher: We had Dreamhack Summer in Sweden and ever since that competition we have been in Holland going through a boot camp of sorts. We played everyday against all kinds of opponents to sharpen our skills. Avek and I know that we can do really well if our mind is set right. Once we’re focused, all will be good.
Razer: Since we’re here, share with our fans some of your techniques that helps you with your gamimg.
Cypher: I use the Razer Abyssus which is a nice shape for me. It is simple and movs very smoothly for me. The shape helps me with my different techniques. When I’m using rockets or the rail gun, I switch to a claw hold and when I’m on the lightning gun, I use the palm grip for more control.
I usually mix it up but it’s best for the individual to find which grip suits him more for different situations.
At the time of writing, Cypher and his teammate from Team Serious Gaming, Avek, have beaten all of their opponents in their group to progress to the next stage.

Now this is a pretty interesting story, and we wished we were making this up.
Team PGS from Poland recently rang us up with an urgent request to help them out at one of the largest eSports tournament titled “East Games United 2010″ where the country’s best pro-gamers were gathered to battle it out for the CoD Championship title, and asked us for some reinforcements with regards to upgrading their gaming equipment.
Thankfully, huge tournaments, a great team and winning goes together with us like fine wine and cheese, and the end result?
We sent over some of our gear in the nick of time (much thanks to our couriers) and Team PGS walked away with the gold and CoD Grand Champions title.
Sweet.
And it sure looks like we’ll be adding a new line-up very soon to our list of pro teams at our *cough* brand new Team Razer page.
You can read up more about the event at their website. (News post – in Polish) (News Post – translated into English)

Update: We thought we’d include this photo of one of the guys with the Razer Carcharias headset. Right out of the box and straight into the tournament even with the protective plastic pieces still on.
A day ago, we officially announced Team Wayi Spider from Taiwan officially joined Team Razer. Today we bring you some news, images and a short writeup from our recent announcement in Taipei City, Taiwan.

Life is full of tough choices.
One of our Razer booth babes. Unfortunately, she wasn’t available as a prize much to everyone’s dismay.
Welcome to the Razer Zone!
Team Wayi-Spider had more trophies, but the display table was too small.

Signing the agreements, true Razer style.
I bet our sponsorship contracts look better than others.

Like true ninjas, the team appeared for a team shot.
Ok, we made that up, they were actually standing closeby.
Team Wayi Spider demonstrating their skills live on a server and kicking serious ass.
Liz, the only female member in the highly covert SF male-dominated teams is one of Taiwan’s most famous female progamers.
We confirmed that her headshot accuracy was frighteningly scary.

Laying down the pwnage live.
Razer booth babe with a Razer Mamba. There are indeed some perfect things in this world.
At every Razer event, there are winners. Even members of the press got away with prizes from one of our lucky draws.
Another winner of the media.
Safe to say that Master Chief has nothing against our Chief.
We wished that this was a more common sight at LAN centers.
With 7.1 surround sound, on board audio processing, deep bass and kickass clarity of the Razer Megalodon, who else wouldn’t be this happy?
That’s pretty much for now… See you all at the next Razer event!
