Gawddamnit Razer, Y U NO just make a really good stereo heaset wit an 5.1/7.1 usb adaptor? More than 1 speaker in one cup is a gimmick, and i’ve fell for it myself. Thankfully, i could get my money back from the store 1 1/2 years later.

Great to hear that they will be released in February. Hopefully we don’t see another delay. This is all I wanted… an announcement.

I am very happy Razer is doing the right thing and not releasing these before they are fully ready. I can’t stand more than anything companies that release a product and a month later release a v2.0 of that product and leave V1.0 users in the dust, good way to loose customers. 
Personally own a few products from Razer and will wait as long as it takes for these headphones, and sure when they come out they will be amazing. plus give me time to find a sweet sound card to pair it with.
I have personally been keeping my eye on these for a few months.

Yes you can, but you’ll need to go into your audio or windows settings and tell it to use either 2.1 or 7.1. Regarding the free shipping, it only applies to the Tiamat.

Like Anticrawl said, it’s nothing that we have control over. Different countries have different regulations that cause certain ones to be cheaper than others.

So if i understand correctly i won’t be needing to switch between my 5.1 speakers and my headset as default sound peripheral? because right now i got to go in sound option and select my Megalodon as default device every time i want to switch from my 5.1 speakers for games. And since most application don’t accept a “while functioning” change of default sound device i often have to close back down a game simply to switch sound to the other peripheral, which is still quite annoying after 2 years of use.

What you’re explaining with the Megalodons is a due to Windows. As far as the Tiamat goes, it’s like having a speaker switch. The speakers can be connected to the control pod and by pressing a button, it would switch between the two.

totally agreed, and i pointed out before, i understand that europe has bigger taxed, 6 to 10 in US vs 20 in europe, but even counting all taxes and so on, i dont know where they come up with this number, personaly i dont care that much as i lucked out and was able to pre order it in a shop that made a mistake counting and set the price to 140 euro, so i will wait and see the razer price (the one announced is recommended price, not necessarily razer’s).

lets hope razer comes to a more reasonable europe price.

Really starting to get concerned that the sound won’t be as good as envisaged by engineers. I have used many headsets in past 2 years and best were the hpx series from turtle beach. But still, they weren’t perfect. I have such high hopes as I love Razer products and their build quality, but admit I am a little nervous now as the delays make me think there are some serious issues here.

Can you tell us why there is a delay and assure us these will be the best multi directional audio headset on the market?

Is the shipping to Puerto Rico free? For diverse conveniences, we are sometimes considered part of the US and sometimes we’re not. If the shipping is not free, will combined shipping be available? If I’m not mistaken we’re going to order 4 Tiamat headsets.

You should be able to use the free shipping, but if not, you should be able to order multiple Tiamats at once.

I agree on the money thing. But the problem with tech now a days is to many companies rush it out and you get a less the optimal product. I wish more companies went for quality over quantity. So i actually approve of them holding back until its ready. Now, after waiting i would be extremely saddened if it was still a sub optimal product. That would be rather lame. 

Must get Tiamat…. old headphones dying  X_____X

I was able to try these at CES, and the best example I can give is this. I have a pair of Sennheiser PC350′s which are pretty good headphones . The are attached attached to a high end Asus sound card with amp. So I feel I experience pretty good audio on a daily basis. With that said I wouldn’t hesitate to switch to these Razers at all. They have great audio quality and unmatched positional audio.

 At least you have old headphones. I have a piece of cord with a mic dangling all over the place.

 Make Logitech replace them or refund your purchase.  I understand why the G series break because mine broke too and the reliable reviews were wicked – Logitech was being cheap in construction – your G35′s  probably broke at/near the ear cup support. 
If so, then it is because the material is injection molded TOO THIN !   Moreover, the material itself is cheap plastic – it does not have the strength that a better grade material would have – this defect likely covers the entire line – if Logitech replaces them, they will probably break again in or near the same location. 
I will give Logitech that they sound pretty good and have nice software – but they are just not durable and positional audio is rank.  Chopsticks huh – I suggest that you go for a refund and buy another brand.  Give em hell if they don’t want to resolve a warranty issue.
Contact your state’s Consumer Protection or Attorney General and file a formal complaint.  That should light a fire under their ass and you likely get ALL of your money back – also, post the issue in more places – let other good gamers know.  Even if not in warranty, give it a try because it is a “manufacturing defect” – not abuse or dropping – if enough gamers complain, Logitech might have to recall the entire line, which I believe they should do.  Selling us cheap gear.  I hate the hassle it creates ( 
There are a slew of very good inexpensive headsets out there right now and more to come – but  I recommend RAZER as they make good stuff – but look them all over real good and Jesh, before buying, read lots of the reviews, especially on 2nd, 3rd & 4th, etc., pages,,,,,, check several pages for reviews.   You don’t want to trust a paid review generally found on first search pages – they pay to be up front.   Sincerely, best wishes that you resolve your G35 issue – It may be worth your effort. More Bucks to spend on a RAZER.

 Mine are broken and in the box to ship back I want a Tiamat, TOO.  I trust that Razer will not let us down – It’s a real shame the cord is not removable with a locking plug (no tangled cords) – or – a small hard-case to protect them.

 We’re all alone……………..they cant give a ship date………….they have no clue and I hate to say this but look at the website for other items………….Oh……..what………..not available…………razer is MIA…..

The Tiamat 7.1 is analog and connects over 3.5mm jacks to a 7.1 surround sound card, which delivers true surround sound via 10 individual speakers. The Megalodon is digital and connects via USB with an on board sound processing unit that creates virtual 7.1 surround sound.

Just a quick question, if my Asus motherboard supports 7.1 surround sound, will the Tiamat play in 7.1 true surround sound? From what I have read, it looks like I need a dedicated sound card, is this true?

Good Work Razer, i only own your Deathadder 3500 mouse and your Lycosa Keyboard, but i gotta say, these two products alone have given me the experience to know that even with the frusturating delays, this much anticipated gaming headset will arrive in flawless or at least near flawless condition. in no way am i an audiophile. i’m pretty easy to please. but i have never owned anything that goes past a speaker config of 2.0. looking mucho forward to this new piece of hardware

Everyone is talking about the 7.1 version of these, but what about the 2.2 one? Will it have any advantages what so ever over 7.1 (i.e. possibly bigger speakers due to being fewer maybe) or is it simply a lesser version of 7.1 with no real 7.1 positional audio? Will it have virtual surround?

 If your motherboard supports 7.1 you are good to go.  That being said the quality of audio from a dedicated sound card is far and away superior to on board sound.  At the end of the day it is down to how much audio quality matters to you.

 Each ear cup on the 2.2 version contains 2 x 40mm drivers.  The sound output would be standard stereo, that being said you can buy external 7.1 virtual surround soundcards, which plug into a USB port.  Not sure what the quality of them is like and if it would pose any sort of saving over simply buying the 7.1 version

The 2.2′s are unique in the sense that it has two 40mm speakers in each cup. You get the normal front stereo with two dedicated low-frequency speakers (one in each) for a deeper bass. Basically, you’re getting the same great, light weight headset in stereo with a great sounding bass instead of the full 7.1 surround. And no, it won’t have virtual surround.

 You mention “light”. How much will these headsets weight (7.1)?

I don’t have an exact weight, but just by holding them, they’re lighter than the Banshees (approx. .65 lbs).

my turtles arrived and right ear was not working. Mic was scratchy and made me sound like a terroist in a cave. New set, the headsets sounded like cans with string attached. and to make matters worse the ear cups turned my ears black like a cheap joke you play on your friends making them look into the binoculars.

hey, i’m a older fan of gaming. just recently heard about these headsets, been in the market for the perfect headset or as close as i can get. ive had alot of cans from the a40′s 2011 editions to the g35′s.still  looking…hope these live up.

If free shipping is included will it at all knock the price down on higher grade shipping options?

My current MoBo has pretty decent built in sound card with 7.1 support and has all of the 3.5mm connectors but I am unsure if it will be compatible with the Tiamats. Is there anyway to test this and if not, is there a truly substantial change in overall quality between the 35$ sound card and some of the more expensive ones listed on your recommended cards page?

My question is, as i’m sure the list is very long with people waiting for these as of a year ago, will there be a chance that you will run out of the product as they release causing me to wait longer? or will you have a sufficient amount to cover all orders from the list and incoming?

i think you’ll be fine, if your mobo supports 7.1. Buying a cheap sound card isnt much better than integrated, and integrated is that bad. basically, if you are going to buy a sound card, go all out. if not, you’ll be content with integrated, pocket the 35 bucks.

i spent more than 400 bucks on razer products, and not only 1 product failed. my razer death adder mouse stop working after a firmware update, my megalodon has loads issue right after i had it and led broke after 2 month, i was trying to fix it, and opened the led cover, realized how cheap the material inside. sign……… pic of my megalodn >> , ps: both side leds broke at same time, and im sure i were using properly and i seen alot people experienced this issue as well, the only way to fix it is replace leds.

i think Tiamat 7.1 will be my last try for razer, if still loads issue and no solution from tech supporters. ill give up razer and go for other gear company such as steelseries or corsair  logitech etc….

It is Austria not Australia different countries man, I’m disappointed they don’t do free ship to Australia where I live… 

the really good thing about blizzard is that they always come out with quality stuff. if this tiamat is like that, then i don’t mind.

so just to get things strait:

1. you could ALMOST guarantee its release by the end of this month
2. free shipping to Canada is not possible but you aren’t going to do anything about helping out Canadians and other fans in countries that you cant/don’t want to ship free to?

well i hope it supports both because i understand the magnitude of how much that’d suck for you guys with surround sound speaker systems, however mine is a green analog input system, a 200 dollar klipsch setup (2 speakers, 1 sub) so hopefully it’ll support both?

yeah I wrote something similar earlier this month regarding shippin to Canada…….its really PATHETIC how badly us Canadians are treated by some companies. Shipping to Canada would cost significantly less than that of European countries yet “FREE SHIPPING” to Canada is still not an Option

this blows… they don’t even have the final specs hammered out (no weight specs posted??? ) so that leads me to believe that they are actually still puttering around with the design.. No way this gets shipped in Feb, I’m gonna start shopping around for other solutions as I just cant trust Razer on this. First they missed the Dec ship date and then the January… You guys might as well bundle Duke Nukem Forever with these if they ever ship… 

Got a couple of weird questions about these, firstly are they gonna fit as well on those of us with big heads? My head is like 24″ in circumference round the ears and worried these are gonna be tight.  Also what sort of comfort can i expect while wearing glasses? Might sound like a weird question and possibly somewhat subjective, but i can’t wear supra-aural headphones as they are agony with glasses on.  Hoping the circumaural design will alleviate this problem.  Also wanna say take your time and get these right, i’m actually stoked you guys are making sure these are awesome before shipping…if these fit my massive bonce should be worth the wait!!

It doesn’t support 5.1/7.1 speaker setups since there’s only one in and one out for a stereo speaker setup on the control pod.

Yes, but you state reccomended sound cards, just because it will “work” will it sound like sh*t? I guess this same question applies to the 2.2s. I’ve never had a dedicated sound card or a nice headset, so this is all a bit new.

 I’ve bought a Creative X-Fi Soundcard and there is HUGE difference between this and the onboard sound. I would recommend you to buy a dedicated soundcard.

I’d like to know if there is any particular reason you went with leatherette for the ear cup padding. I’m not so sure about that choice since if I’m not mistaken they tend to make you sweat easier and the comfort level just isn’t as good as, for example, the kind of soft fabric used in the Megalodon.

Will they work with external 7.1 sound cards i have an msi laptop and it doesnt have 7.1 so im thinking n getting an external usb soundcard like the Diamond extreme external 7.1 sound card

seriously. i looked up the logitech g930 and the astro a40 and honestly, they  only made me more excited for these babies. 5 speakers per ear for actual surround sound rather than ”emulating” it. yeah, it may be a tad unnecessary to have that many speakers that close to your ear, but these are the only set that actually produce 7.1 surround sound, no ‘emulate’ it. 

tl;dr Tiamat 7.1 puts turtle beaches, astros, trittons, logitechs, and so on in the past.. well, when they release that is which I’m HOPING to be this month. any Razer employee wanna confirm it for this month? can i get a miracle?

By the way, since we’re 14 days into the month during which you promised to release it, maybe it’s appropriate to ask how that statement of yours is looking to hold up.. Feeling confident it’s really gonna happen this time?

Your sound card is definitely good enough for the 7.1s. As for the 2.2, you just need the stereo plug (green) for audio your card would be more than fine for them.

The control unit on the 7.1 sits on your desk. It lets you adjust the volume of the individual channels and mic individually, as well as switch between stereo and 7.1, mute the mic and audio, and switch between headphones and speakers (if connected to the control unit).

For the 2.2, there’s an in-line remote that lets you change the volume and mute the mic.

I have been waiting for this headset for MONTHS now, I think by now we should know an exact release date. I keep seeing posts saying that it will be “SOON” varying from a day to two weeks ago. What is your definition of “SOON” Razer? I think at this point we deserve to know the exact planned release date.

For all of you whiners out there, would you prefer it if Razer released the Tiamats unfinished and not fine-tuned? Do you really want a faulty headset? Give them a break. Try being in their shoes for once. You should be thanking them for delaying this product and not releasing it when it isn’t ready.

I agree. I appreciate the delay. I believe that the delay will produce a product that far exceeds any of our expectations. With that being said, I would still like to emphasize that they however are not keeping us well informed… They are quick to say “soon” and “when it’s ready” with promises of “this month”, that have failed twice already, and seemingly a third time in our immediate future.tl;dr, the wait will produce a much better fine tuned product that will exceed expectations, but Razer should keep us up to date a bit better, with more details.

It seems as though they are keeping everything secret, and if thats due to wanting to surprise us, thats fine, but its causing worry that the product had a flaw that is setting them back by months.

I too am disappointed in the inability to produce a correct estimation by Razer, however I would like to encourage you to lighten up; this headset will blow anything you’ve ever had before out of the water, and if it doesn’t, you always that 30 day return grace period, correct?

Good to know I’m among my own. I actually couldn’t even afford these, I just built a custom computer, so I’m broke. Luckily I have good friends that are better off financially than I, and one in particular agreed to pay up front for the Tiamat 7.1 for me. So all I have to do now is keep hittin F5 on here and my email, waiting for that Add to Cart option. Once that appears, I’m shootin him a call for an order

i have a pretty cheap 7.1 sound chip that you guys had on your recommendations page. i was wondering that although that page is full of 7.1 compatible  chips, will the cheaper ones even do the tiamat justice? or should i buy one that’s a hundred dollars more to get the full effect?

Yes the X-Fi Pro/Champ sound amazingly better than onboard, getting a sound card is one of best things you can do that will compliment the 7.1. Onboard wouldn’t get my recommendation to be a choice as it will bring poor audio n bring no justice.
Razer! Have you guys checked up on the Recon3D to see if its compatible?

The 7.1 won’t work with the Recon3D since it’s a digital audio processor. The 7.1s are basically an analog 7.1 surround sound speaker system that’s been turned into a headset, which needs to connect each sound channel via a dedicated 3.5mm analog jack. The 2.2s would work great with it though since they’re a stereo headset. 

They’ll be here this month and we’ll let you know once they’re available. You can give your F5 key a break until we’ve announced they’re officially available

I know you aren’t asking me but in my honest opinion, you either go big or go home. ESPECIALLY with sound. You won’t hear much a difference unless you really commit to it. I”d just stick to what you have unless you’ve got that money to throw at audio.

QUESTION FOR RAZER: 

I plan on using these for my Xbox 360. I know about your Chimaera’s but I don’t want that, I want these. 

My question is, if I use an Optical Audio Cable to export audio FROM the Xbox 360, to input as a Line In on my PC, will it maintain the 5.1 surround sound, and go into the Tiamat 7.1 as 5.1 surround sound?

The Tiamat are analog. Usually the only thing that can input/output is optical. I don’t think getting input (optical) from the xbox and output (analog) to the Tiamat. What you need is an optical to analog converter (google will be your friend) in order to make them work the way you hope for. Good Luck!

Well what I have planned is an Optical out from my Xbox to 3.5mm Line in to my PC. Im wondering if that will transfer 5.1 Surround Sound from my Xbox 360 to my computer. Then I’ll have my Tiamat 7.1s plugged into my PC. 

I think it should work, so long as that Optical cable transfers 5.1 like it is supposed to, and my PC recognizes the 5.1 and outputs the sound into the Tiamat as 5.1.

Well I exchanged it back for another 7.1 but I’m still having the same issues of the computer hard freezing with this card. Now I have two of these that are completely useless till I figure it out or just exchange it once again for the 
HT OMEGA CLARO Plus+ if they have it that is..

 When you say that your making it so they do not need to commit to THIER word, why make a release date if your not gonna follow through with it. I don’t like being a pessimist, but this was the last deadline i could afford to wait and i don’t think it’ll happen.

Razer makes a good product and it would be unwise to release a product before it has been profected. How many times has a game been pushed out before its time only to feel the scorn of the gamers. Knowing my luck they will release it when I am traveling either this weekend or early next week on my way back and I will miss out on them as they may sale out real quick. They better make enough for everyone to buy them when they do release. So many people are wanting them after all.

Wonder why they didn’t offer any pre-order thing. They’d know how many at least to make in the first batch. I don’t know industrial planning but Pre-Order seems to be fairly standard. They do have the email-list… going for some percentages of the number signed up wouldn’t be a bad mark either.

Well I am a BIG razer fan myself, I own Razer Lycosa, razer Blackwidow ultimate, razer Moray, razer diamondback, razer deathadder, razer mamba 4g dualsensor, razer vespula and razer scaran bf3 edition…And the only thing that is missing is a full size razer gaming headset, i bought the razer tiamat 7.1 for 1.800 swedish crowns in 17th of december, and i was hoping they would arrive like 24th of december So i pre-Bought them but…first delay..i can handle that but second delay i got really pist of and if there will be an third delay…I will go mad, tare down the walls , hit peoper with my blackwidow because it weighs like 5 tons, and then i would never trust razer again. With all the waiting for these i ended up saving up more than enough to buy myself a pair of beyerdynamic mmx 300′s and an asus xonar stx. I am sure that the tiamats with be good, but the delays just went on to long.

I’ve only got 200$ and i’m tempted to buy the 7.1 instead of 2.2. I have a cheap realtek HD sound card that i don’t know if it would work with the 7.1.

Is there a sound quality difference between those 2 headsets? Or just the additional surround sound in the 7.1? 

Also, is the microphone any good?

Excited for the release, Razer! I’m currently deciding between the Tiamat 7.1 & the Astro A40 system. The A40s have been out for awhile, and I know I love them, but I want to give the Tiamats a chance before I throw down.  You need a soundcard for it. Like one you hook up surround sound speakers to… I spent $150 on a new sound card for these things. No usb needed.

I figure the next delay will push the release date back to aboooout, lets say March 31st.  Then within 24 hours of that date, Razer will have accomplished quite the ruse.

At this point, I’m wary about buying these because I suspect there were/are some very serious problems with the headset. I was initially excited about the Tiamat but now I’m just scared to buy them. Could you guys please explain why, specifically, the Tiamat has been delayed?

The Megalodons need the USB because they are virtual surround, the Tiamats are true surround and use the four 3.5mm jacks for sound.
The USB is only for the lighting and to power the control unit.

Broke down and bought the Cooler Master Storm Sirus headset. 5.1 has proven to be good enough for me. Also ditching my deathadder as after my second one is now worn out, I’m ready for a new company. Corsair M60 here I come.

 If you have a look at the software for your soundcard, be it onboard sound or a seperat card they normally have test functions where you can move a sound source around to test the directionality using this you should be able to set up the tiamats to your tastes.

Actually getting more money back from taxes this time around, so I have no worries in buying this headset. I just worry that you all will say its been delayed again. There is only four more days left until the end of the month, after all. I hope you all do not delay it again. If you release it for shipping on Monday or Tuesday I could essentially get it just in time for my birthday on the 2nd next Friday. That is depending on the shipping method I select. Whatever you do don’t go with logitech. I’ve went through 3 G35s.The hinges that the ear cups swivel on are god damn plastic. I don’t know why they made such a stupid decision with this. Everytime mine have broke on me, its because the earcup detached from the entire headset. Awful build quality.

so i have a question for sound cards. I have a 4 jack 7.1 surround sound chip. the jack it doesn’t have is the mic. If i wanted to use the mic in the tiamat, how would i go about doing that, if it is even possible, without buying a new chip

I would think that you could use a USB Headset adapter that has a mic input. Do a Google search. I just did and saw one for like $2.76 so it should not cost you too much. You would plug in the Speakers for the Headset into the 7.1 Sound 3.5 jacks on the card and then just plug the Mic 3.5 jack into the USB device. then go into Windows and make sure that the Mic is selected to use the USB and the Card to use the speakers from the headset. Mic lines are always separate from speakers so it should work that way.

Sorry that you guys think of it this way – the simple fact is that we are working around the clock to perfect the Razer Tiamat. Gamer to gamer, if the product isn’t good enough for us to be blown away by it, it sure as hell isn’t good enough to be released to the public.

I think selling them individually will also be good so that we can have one side as one design and the other side as a different design. Like say a BF3 pic on one side and the Razer logo on the other. You all probably already though of that though.

there will be a difference, but not a huge one. I live by “go big or go home” so if I were you, I’d either stick with that or go buy an expensive sound card, but does it matter that much to you to have better sound for 100-200 bucks?

In theory they could buy a few more days… nobody says the order has to be shipped same day. If you order it on Wednesday after 5 pm PST it counts as order date Thursday and they can say 2 business days to ship… i.e. Monday then it could be a full day before UPS/Fedex/etc picks it i.e. Tuesday and viola another week is gained.

A true razer fan will stick with these even if it’s delayed again. Sure
you will feel disappointed, but you’ll get over it. At least every time

So true. I have been a fan of them ever since I got my first Copperhead mouse. I went to them because all of Logitech mice I have ever owned when to $hit. I just have bad luck with Logitech mice, and only there mice. Now I own four Razer mice, a Razer keyboard, a few Razer mouse pads/mats, the Razer HP-1 headset, and the Razer AC-1 Barracuda. Not to meant some Razer swag. I’ll stick with them. There products have all been good for me. Even with this delay, I’ll be getting the Headset. The free stuff is also a nice gesture as well. Like you said not many companies do that. All that I have ever sen from Razer is that they truly care about there customers and there products. They use them as well after all so they should try to get it as perfect as possible. Yeah I am a little disappointed but I would be more disappointed if I got them and they were flawed.

I do not think so. The code they give out for such things usually only works in the
Razer Store. At least from the Promotions that I get from them. Plus its not like it will be in the packaging for the Headsets. It would be cool if it was though. If you want the free stuff your best bet is to wait and order it after they send out the email for it. I would believe the codes will be with those emails.

Little upset about this, been following since December, and seeing that they released with not enough units to even support 1/5 of the people who want to get it is irritating, although i dont mind it i do need to save money to get it.

Way to go Razer you had lost like 10% with the delays and now you’ve lost probably 25+% with this. WTH seriously you put out like 5 Tiamats and most people didn’t even get an e-mail, me included. Don’t just sale 5 so you “accomplished” your release date*On a leap year* I probably would be more ok with 1 more slight delay ~ a week, but this…

  You should be ashamed of yourselves. I have been signed up for a e-mail since mid-december, never got one. You have numerous ways that people have given you an idea for a rough estimation of how many to make in your first intial production push, and have fallen short. You keep your customers in the dark til the very last moment. In fact, I have my own doubts that you really made enough of an efective product, I have a sneaking suspicion that you “released” them to make the February deadline, and then called “out of stock” to give yourselves more time, probably sent out a couple that you did manage to make for the February deadline, and if that is the case, are most likely subpar. Be ashamed of how you have treated your customers and how you have handled the production of this product.

This is my first dealing with Razer. I called them after placing my order right after i received the email at 11 am EST today on the 29th. Then i read hear people are saying they are being told it is sold out already. I called and gave the lady my order number, she said I see your order but really can’t tell you anything else. WTF?!?!?? I said well you should be able to tell me if i am getting the first shipment or not, she no i can’t. I will forward your question and they will email you in 1-3 business days?! WTF!! Ill never deal with this gaggle f%^k of a company again.

The USA store had it for about 5 minutes I stupidly waited a few minutes to get my email with my free items but no luck…I paniced and ordered it – got real lucky to – it took me 2 minutes to complete the order – and it sold out when I submitted the order =/ I feel bad for alot of people who probably waited to get the email first to 1) know when the product was ready to order and 2) get there free items =(…..if theres any rep who can email me or contact me here I would like my free item coupon code..I did a next day shipping option I just want my T-shirt size XXL if possible and a flask =(

I feel physically sick from the way Razer as a company has handled this release.  Put up, and leave up the pre-order function.  So we customers (the lively hood of your company) don’t have to check your site begrudgingly every other hour or day just to see if its possible to “pre-order” and wait 1-2 weeks again.  I would rather get my order and just know that a pair will arrive eventually then go through this hassle.

why are paypal payments not possible?? i mean i got the email and missed out of getting them since their unavailable….but really why no paypal support when all products from the razerstore can be bought from paypal….what makes the razer tiamat the exception.. its not a big problem but its a stupid problem at that..

I’m disgusted by the lack of communication. I had them in my cart and all my info was put in and I got nothing but errors after that. Seriously get your head out of your 4th point of contact and start talking to your customers. I really hope these are worth it otherwise I will never buy a Razer product again.

Guys i see alot of you guys making crazy comments about the availablity of this product…..I for one think that its a SIMPLE STRAIGHT SCAM and there was NO Tiamat released today at all whatsoever !! They just sent us all emails to fulfil their promise of “it will be released in Feburary” but infact there was nothing in stock today at all whatsoever……as soon as I got the email, I clicked pre order now and within 1 minute the stock was depleted :p This is extremly funny and I for one think that there was nothing in stock to begin with……We have been lied to

Razer… You really need a preorder option for your store. It would help guarantee the sale of products, not to mention guarantee our chance to use the primotion codes we were given. I know for a fact that I would rather preorder and wait than to worry I may miss out on the next shipment or the end of the promotions expiration.

They did offer a pre-order, a very small amount of them and the pre-orders are already sold out. Now they can only notify you when they start a new ordering or pre0ordering process.

I did the same thing. Was waiting the whole day for the mail and when i pressed the link and typed in my information and everything the stock was gone. And trust me i’m not a slow writer. I don’t think that’s possible really. I don’t think i will buy this product anymore, i don’t want to wait untill mid march to get this, there is a million other good headset out there who i think is better then this SHIT.

That is not a True Preorder. That is just an order. A true Preorder is when they leave it up and not limit the amount of it and take it down when a set amount is hit. In fact I have yet to see a product listed in the Razer Store have a Preorder option, which is why I am asking for it for all there products, not just this one. Unless I have been missing something all these years, I have never seen it in there Store. Preorodering is good for business which is why I am a little surprised they do not have a True Preorder process. In reality it just makes more sense to me, especially since this product is in such high demand.

I agree with the previous poster as I never received an email and they are already out of stock, coupled with the amount of people who subscribed to the email notifications months ago Razer should have known the demand for these headphones were going to be massive and should have had enough stock to meet demand as any good company would have done. The part where I differ from it being a scam is it may be possible that seeing the amount of units they would potentially need they had to push back the release till mid-march as the manufacturers may not have had enough stock to meet demand. But in either case, why would a company that is supposedly sympathetic with its fan base feel it necessary to lie to it’s customers about the amount of stock it has. The announcement and production of the Tiamat has been nothing but trouble since the beginning and I can only hope these headphones don’t end up going the direction that AMDs FX chip went recently.

Even those people that camped it and managed to get the 5 headsets that were in stock, still have to wait for the SHIPPING DATE in march. They lied and cheated everyone. I’d say this is probably even worse for them than had they just set the mid march date. Now everyone not only feels ticked for having to wait so long, but now cheated and unsure about the value of this company.

This was my last waiting date. I’m going on a mission for my church and was really hoping i could have these for at least three months before. it’s not even worth it to buy any headset now after waiting so long. so not only did you cost yourselves money, but you cost some other decent company theirs too.

I wonder how many people have already went for a different headset after today…really curious about that….

Well, after waiting patiently for four months, getting more and more upset about about the delays we we’re promised it would ship in February. I love how they send an email out on the last week of February only to tell us there no product left to ship? I’m sorry what was the point of even having an email notification system? I opened the email 3 minutes after I received it, only to see it’s out of stock. F you Razer, you’ve lost yourself one customer here and I;m sure quite a bit other. I have been on the “notify me” list since October and never recieved an email with all the “we’re sorry we fucked up here’s some free cheap shit promo codes” Ive spent so much money on other razer products and feel really thrown under the bus as a loyal customer. I believe we need to berate Razer with outcry from it’s customers and actually be compensated for this atrocious and COMPLEYTLY DISRESPECTFUL LAUNCH WITH NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL!

I think the problem is not necessarily that the Tiamats are not available, though that is the root of the issue, but the fact that the release could have been handled far better. Pre-order is a wonderful concept, it says “We do not have stock right now, but we acknowledged the fact you have paid. You have been put in a queue to receive your Tiamat as stock becomes available. Please wait patiently as it may be several weeks until the item is ready to be shipped to you, but rest assured you will get it.”

Turning on and off the ‘switch’ is a major problem as it causes a lot of turbulence between you and your customers who may feel cheated. They have been waiting so long for your product only to be cut out by someone who may have just stumbled upon the news of the headset just today, only that person has faster typing skills.

Prime example is myself, I signed myself up for the notify list in December, and haven’t even considered shopping elsewhere for a headset so that I may enjoy Razer hardware at it’s best. Patiently waiting through the lack of communication, I find it finally released today, while I was at work on a 12 hour shift. In short, I had no chance in hell to get in on that 3 minute window to order the limited first wave of Tiamats.

However, if I was certain that perhaps people who have been waiting longer than I received theirs and I would get mine in due course, I wouldn’t mind waiting a little longer. That hasn’t been the case however. And I fear come ‘Mid-March’ the situation will be the same as this.

So I just realized another GREAT way we are getting scammed here….so first off there was no release to begin with…..they just BS’d us by saying its ready to preorder and i KNOW FOR A FACT i was one of the first 25 people to preorder it since i did it withing 1 minute of getting the email. But as soon as i put my order thru “Item out of stock” ur telling me that the first batch only consisted of 25 pieces :p yeah okay !! Second off in the email they said that the coupon is only valid till 1 month from release date so 29th of March 2012 and since the next batch is coming out in 2 weeks so around 15th of March…..I am sure they will only release another 100 prob on the next batch so basically everyone else will have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks to get their hands on it which will be 30th of MARCH…..and when ur gonna enter the promo code for the flask and t-shirt on the pre-order it will say its EXPIRED since it was valid till 29th !!!!! it was 5 mins, and per region ontop of people expecting and waiting for the emails, over 7000 people commented on the facebook thread alone wanting this headset, well more then that were signed up. They go fast, if your slow your slow either wait or buy something else, but when you get the lesser of the 2 headsets then dont come back here qq’ing.

as everyone else here who DIDN’T get one, my patience is becoming rather thin. The slow production of units for release is appalling. you posted several days before the end of the month saying that it was in production and that you “WERE WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK”. IF that was even remotely true in anyway, then you should have had roughly over 100 units/hour produced. IF it was fully automated it would be much faster but if anything, WHY have you not told the public how many were produced  for this release alone? how can you possible sell everything in under one minuet?

IF you cannot keep this promo going than at least give discounted prices to those who do manage to at least order theirs.

AS PREVIOUSLY STATED BY OTHERS. why do you not have a permanent pre-order button for us to just purchase from and wait. It would let you just continuously produce units and ship them without angering and losing potential buyers. All it would cost you to do this is around 10-30min Max and you wouldn’t have to worry about anything until you start falling behind with the orders. even then you could cap orders to a max of 1000-10,000+ every month with the ones you haven’t completed carried over to the next month where you could open it up again to the point of cap.again this would only take you 30mins max every month open or close it. this system is better than just letting the your fans hang and wait for the very slim chance once every month to get the handful of units that you decide to release.

Again your “working around the clock” amounts to nothing at this point. IF you must move more workers over to produce more units of tiamats then do it. WE DO NOT expect you guys to be working 24/7 to produce units with little or no rest but at this point your running out of options. 

WOULD A RESPECTABLE RAZER EMPLOYEE/MANAGING STAFF/ THE CEO UPDATE THIS PAGE WITH EXACTLY WHAT IT IS YOUR DOING, HOW MANY WERE ACTUALLY PRODUCED AND RELEASED, HOW MANY WILL YOU HAVE BY MID MARCH, HOW LONG DOES IT EVEN TAKE FOR YOU TO PRODUCE ONE UNIT, AND HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE EVEN ASSEMBLY THESE THINGS.

You need to release the exact info of what do you mean working around the clock to produce? Is it 24/7? or is it 24/1 day of the week? You need to release the information of how many units will be produced by your so called mid march deadline. We want to actually see your so called hard at work. Somehow I feel that you will not release the 7.1 in mid March. Wana know why? Cause I see your 2.2 at the end of the month 03/27/2012! This shows you that you have low priorities about your products. As stated above, you should be able to pull off 100 units per hour, typical 16 hour work day which means 1600 units a day! x2 weeks = 14days = 22,400 units. I think thats ample supply. I’ll even give you the benefit of the dout of 10,000 units in theory should be ready by March 14th. But heres the catch, each day that passes, well thats units sitting around and not being delivered if you just let us do preorders so they can just ship those units out asap each day that they make them. You shouldn’t be doing waves, you should be taking pre orders so you can roll them out of the factory when they are finished as you specifically stated before. Not by backing up stock pile and forcibly make us wait. And you guys better extend accepting that coupon code if you really value your customers. You need to extend it another whole month, why? Cause of the wait time of 2 weeks from each wave. Seriously learn better business tactics, I’m sure the CEO would be devastated knowing the fact your literally losing THOUSANDS of dollars in sales by your weak sales system. Step up your game, be real with facts, not with false promises and lies, do a proper pre order system so you don’t lose any more costumers than you already have. The people will appreciate it.

Did anyone notice razer stated they would give free shipping for the tiamats and they didn’t follow through with that either? When I tried going to checkout it was charging me for the slowest shipping and i’m in the USA.

But how come it cost bloody AU $229.95 while US it is only  US $179.99, what kind of fucken currency converter are you using? well for me US $179.99 = AU $166.482. I understand I don’t live in US but that price doesn’t even account for shipping and I expect to pay another $40 or some shit on top of that. I rather buy from US and ship to here it wouldn’t be close to the price you put up.Fix the price to fix your product.

I saw that, but how do we know that the units coming out in mid March wont be as limited of quantity as these and then the codes will be expired for the next batch. It just seems like if they wanted to make the codes be completely valid, make them last a few months instead of one month where they will sell out instantly upon arrival.

This is a precision device, just like every other Razer product. I’m a FOH Audio Technician for touring concerts, and I know that putting 5 different speakers of 3 different sizes in one ear cup is a right pain in the ass. There’s magnetic resonance and interference, noise control, and signal crosstalk to worry about, on top of just making sure they don’t shake each other to pieces! And if the picture above is anything to go by, they Quality Control test each one of these Tiamats Individually, by hand. 100 Units per hour? You only wish.

TL;DR: Don’t pull numbers out of your blowhole, and don’t whine about a process you don’t know about taking longer than you think it should.

Why is the Tiamat so cheap? i know nothing about sound tech but i know that a 7.1 headset (made by Razer of all companies) being $180-230 is rediculously cheap.  Is it just me or is this sparta?

I am a bit curious about the reviews it will get when the first group receives their headsets. I was also wondering about the mid march thing that they have going for the next bunch. knowing Razer, it could be well into next month before their supposed mid march date. Especially because they didn’t announce anything solid. logically the 15th or 16th is mid march, but they didn’t actually announce it that clearly.

 I  am not going to buy this headset, not because of the delay but because of there no response to the many comments. With there lack of response to the many questions we have shows me how there support is going to be (no answers). I went with the Tritton AX Pro Black Ops Edition. Cost me $117. At least its true 5.1 surround. For me the delays being coupled with the lies and deception of the company have soured this deal for me. I’m sorry Razer, I had wanted this to work out but your just not responsible enough to be trusted. These actions should cause any fan to be worried about the product with good reason.

Amazon looks like the only way to actually preorder them however they are low priority. Since they never got the green light from razer to sell any from the 1st so called fake wave. As amazon says, 1 to 2 months more is realistic pre order which blows.

 Chances are, if the headphones are assembled in another country i.e. china, after the holidays all assembly plants shut down for “break” for 4-6 weeks. meaning the headsets were never made and the “wait” is for the production workers to actually start. (mid february).

So razer gives u free stuff for a product u didnt order , just because they delayed it 3 months so they can perfect it. Just chill out , nobody died from waiting. I feel pretty betrayed that I wasn’t informed Via Email that any were available. Even if it was a limited supply, anykind of notification (that was opted into.) would have been nice.

 The company hasn’t acted responsible. Nothing more needs to be said. People should really look for another company to support, hopefully one that has more honor.

 I suggest you do what I did, move on to something else like the Tritton AX51 Pro 5.1 headset. Grabbed one for about half of what this would have cost. Anyone who decides to move on instead of waiting gives Razer another vote of no confidence on this. The more they see losses from these horrible moves, the more likely they will change their business practice. They certainly won’t change anything though if people just buy it anyway.

I really want that headset, but my megalodon is still working great since 2 years. So I will wait for it, for reviews first of all. If it is good I am going to buy it. If someone is pissed off because he needs a new headset but it is not released yet, i can understand him. And maybe Razer did not act perfectly.
But all in all I can not understand why everybody here is this upset. When you cannot wait, okay buy from another company but you do not have to post it here, i give a **** about what headset you are buying. I know I want the Tiamat. Guess I jumped the gun with my previous post.. I was lucky enough to submit my order within 2-3 minutes of getting the email.

I am patiently waiting a Nikon D800 camera. You can not expect Nikon or Razer of that matter to give extreme detailed information like most of you are wanting. A company that deals with distribution of products globally with many pre-orders from retailers etc it is a logistical nightmare to deal with it all. You simply can not give detailed to the number figures and dates, to many variables to account for.

Now one thing Razer does need to work on and it is fairly easy fix, customer service. They do have a decent online presence with the blog and they answer what they can. But when you call the number your should be able to talk to someone in the billing department, PERIOD! You should not have to email and wait 1-3 business days for a reply. Especially when it comes to dealing with someones money or charges…..

Every company that deal with computer parts and accessories needs to take note from them and strive to achieve this level of support. Before anyone says anything, I DO NOT work for Evga.

Besides needing a different sound card, ( Rosewill 702 bad ) I am in love with the crisp volume on this headset, Mic is standard, not sure if will use it much over my stand alone. but finally being able to watch movies in 5.1 / 7.1 sound is amazing.

there are a few unboxings on youtube, and I dont own other headsets to give a review, compared to my old pair of Turtlebeaches ( the 80$~ Px something, ) they are far and above and I still lack a true 7.1 card im usning 5.1 on them right now, cutting our my rear surrounds. Sound is crisp and sharp even at max volume, its very enjoyable.

I really would like to buy Razer Tiamat 7.1 but, I am looking at this headset and see big comfort flaw already – headband is divided into 6 squares which means increased pressure into 4 top points from headphone weight. Basically you head will start to hurt after some time. Roccat made same dumb mistake with Kave 5.1. When they will learn that heavy headphones requires headband with large surface and it must be made not from some sweaty “leather” type material. Of all headsets I own (“Speed-Link Medusa 5.1″ (went trough 4 different generations) , “Roccat Kave 5.1″ and “Tritton AX Pro”, Sennheiser PC 360) Sennheiser PC 360 is the Comfort KING (unfortunately its not 5.1). I think I won’t be buying Tiamat 7.1 until headband will have bigger surface.

I hope they don’t have this buzzing noise ”hiss” caused from the USB alimentation…I change my previous headset(roccat kave;turtle beach z6a) for This problem.
Now i have a stereo headset( Sennheiser pc360 ) they sound very good but don’t have 5.1 or 7.1..
If you tell me that Tiamat don’t have buzzing noise i will change my pc360..

Can anyone tell if the sound quality when listening to music drops heavily when going 2.0 with the tiamat 7.1?
If im listening to music more then playing fps, would i lose too much quality to be worth buying the tiamat?

If there is no sound coming through I can here not so much a buzz but a faint speaker feedback line when you get cell phone interference from desktop speakers. If any sound source is turned on even at the lowest volume the ringing stops. From using them for very long sessions only problem I have had was my big ass left ear slightly sore at the lobe. For using them for music I find 7.1 much better then the 2.0 option on the control switch. I use the bass management feature from Windows it forces the bass onto the sub speaker. Normally I would never use the bass management because of how bad a job if would do on standard speakers but for 7.1 its very nice. Overall only thing I havnt liked about this headset is the Mic.

Yes these headsets have the buzzing noise apparently (i’ve seen reviews of them and the main complaint is that noise)

I finally got them hooked up sunday night. I bought them really for BF3. The game took on a a whole new life. I was actually a little scared playing it sounded so real. 

The packaging is amazing! the quality is amazing. Played BF3 for about 4 hours straight and did not get tired of wearing them. I think i need to tweak them somewhat. doing the speak test from the sound card you can hear all the channels. There doesnt seem to be much separation between the side speakers and the front right/left. Almost like 5.1 more than 7.1. it is there but just not very distinctive.

The controls are nice. They added a nice dongle that allows you to use your current speakers to plug into the control mixer box. My only gripe is the dongle plugs into the bottom of the control box instead of the top where the cables go to your PC. Makes it a pain messes things up on your desk trying to rough speaker cables around to the bottom of the box where the actual headphone cable is. that need to be redesigned or make the actual headphone cable longer so you can leave the control box on the backside of your desk…

Can anyone who has used the headset tell me about the construction? Every single (and I do mean that literally) headset I have had in the past has broken because of poor construction, and because I think my head is bigger than most peoples’.

The performance of the Tiamat 7.1′s is absolutely amazing. The sound quality and positioning of the speakers is nothing short of perfect. I can close my eyes in games that output 7.1 and know where things are on the screen. I’m using an HD Onboard sound card until my new card comes in, and even with the cheap onboard audio, the 7.1 works perfectly.

In short, the Tiamat was worth every penny. My Only suggestion would be for Razer to light the transparent part of the ear cup, so I could be even more ostentatious when using them.

I got mine less then 2 hours ago, only one think that bugs me a bit is, i can hear noise its really really low noise, if i play music moives or some games, i cant hear the noise, anyone else noticed the noise ?? 
I tryed them on a 5 6 year old pc, i just connected the razer tiamat and didnt hear any noise, i did not try to play music or movies on second pc, there was no need for it.

I purposely ugly my latest x79 rig with the gigabyte assassin 2 board so I would have a creative xfi-titanium on board and still be able to run three video cards without having to add sound card in a expansion slot.

Is it a buzzing sound? If so, it’s due to the USB port and most likely a grounding issue. I’d suggest trying a different port since you said you tried it on another PC and didn’t hear anything.

hey razer/quick is there any complaints on the buzzing noise some owners claim. on youtube there saying that there is a buzzing noise (interference) coming from the tiamats..is there a solution to this matter..i dont have them myself..not yet but if many owners are saying it does then it must have it. any fixes for it? yes they have 7.1 sound cards and their still getting the buzzing noise…   jus want to know before i buy mine..

if it is usb port problem with the buzzing noise will razer change anything to the usb somehow? or jus tell us to buy usb hubs and such…some of us tend to use all 6-8 of our usb ports.

I have tried different usb ports and 2 other laptops and one more pc, theres still buzzing/static noise coming out of it, and if I speak on teamspeak / ventrilo there’s static noise in the background that other people can hear, but when I record with windows sound-record there’s no buzzing/static noise. Its really strange, when I use my steelseries sibira and my logitech z-5500 there’s no static/buzzing sound.

 Right here is the thing, just before xmas my razer barracuda
5.1 headset stopped working (sound first then mic after few days) decided to
wait for the tiamat release. 4 months later I’m still not sure if I’m making a
right decision. I’m left with no headphones and what razer says about the next
batch just doesn’t seem legit to me after 4 month.

I got a feeling that I’ll

The most frustrating thing about this is not knowing the exact day they will release. I have been frequently checking the website, refreshing the page, and checking my email like a mad man. I’ve waited since August last year for these headphones and yes I’m disappointed that I didn’t get them the first time around but this is just mere torture. This so called “Switch Minute” is actually so nerve racking it’s beginning to take toll on me mentally. In class I’m thinking to myself, “What if I miss the release when I’m in class taking a test or out eating lunch.” Not to mention my coupon, I’ve waited really long and I’m actually a HUGE razer fan. So, to be sporting one of their shirts or drinking from the flask would help support the company in my opinion. But what happens if i miss the second batch? Personally, I can’t think of a single product/company in the last 5 years that I’ve seen handle a release as badly as this. I think it’s extremely telling that Razer employees were posting non-stop to these threads all of February, but have pretty much disappeared in March. Unacceptable, unprofessional, and clearly not in a position to clean this up quickly (otherwise they would have figured out a way to do that.

I mean, seriously. ‘We’re working overtime to fill demand’ and ‘in full production’ doesn’t seem to match up with a complete lack of product for two full weeks. Are these magic items coming off the assembly line and just sitting in a corner somewhere until some pre-determined date/time where they are available? If you have 500 of these things ready to go, why aren’t you selling them???

Something else is going on here … and I think it’s as simple as Razer is just too afraid to open up to the mistakes that got them here, and don’t want to say another word until the next wave of demand can reliably be met. The problem with that is that they’ve essentially pissed off all the people who care in the first place (the immediate adopters coming here begging and pleading for any meaningful scrap of information).

 i agree with this. Razer is a great company that people trust to have wonderful gaming items. I’ve only been with Razer for a little while but i like all the stuff I’ve got, so i don’t know how recent this out of stock problem is, but i’ve noticed it. i’d think that a company as liked as this one could spend money to enlarge their production rate. especially if the items are bought as soon as they’re made. this investment would pay off extremely quickly and razer would grow huge. The fan base would only get better if we got our stuff on time. I’ve seen companies where nobody wants what they sell, so they make too much. I’ve never seen one like this where the production rate is so slow hardly anybody can get the stuff they want, it just doesn’t make sense.

I have been waiting forever for this thing. The first E mail I got for this headset was like August 17-18 last year. I do agree with some of the things I see on this page as specially the Pre order suggestion. One thing I would like to say is Razer better not give all of these second wave products to big retailer like Newegg and let the people hanging who are expecting the product to show up on the official store first. I mean like I have this product pre-ordered with Newegg and it would really surprise me if Newegg ships out this product to me and it would show out of stock on the official store. I was also surprised how newegg accepted my pre-order for this product but the official store didn’t. I don’t really care about the waiting anymore to be honest. I was really angry when It wasn’t released back in December but now I’m passed that. The way I look at it is I am a gamer and I will end up buying this product no matter what. Anyone know any “actually” good headsets?

By the end of November I sold my roccat kave and tritton to my friends, stupidly thinking that Tiamat was going to be release in December. Roccat are really good 5.1 headsets.The Tritton AX Pro had amazing sound (fidelity), but cheaply made. I tried out the Logitech G35 and they also have decent sound. I was going to buy the Astro headset, but If I recall correctly they aren’t true 5.1. The turtle beach Z6a seem interesting, but never tried them. You can also read on Psyko 5.1 headset, they seem expensive. To think that I also had the razer barracuda and they sounded good, but destroyed your ears after a while.

How ridiculous. They really need to just turn on a preorder already so that that we can just order it and not have to worry about trying to watch the computer screen 24/7 just to try and race in an order for only a few minutes of when it is up.
Just add a preorder option so you can guarantee all of us a chance to get one and use our codes with the purchase. Its better for everyone. Especially you all at Razer as you will be guaranteed a sale and people will not just give up and move on.
If you all do not then the codes are useless and your promises to us with these codes are useless. Thats not good for business. You will loose customers over broken promises. You all gave us codes to use that only last a month but also only gave us two chances to use them and those chances only lasted a few minutes. This is sad.

Every last individual I know that has even a remote interest in gaming peripherals will hear about this entire clusterfuck of a product launch, and my strong opinion on recommending they don’t provide you any sort of support going forward.

Strangely enough, that might even help you out … since you can’t seem to figure out how to fucking sell anything in realistic quanties, perhaps if enough people stop supporting you, then you can finally keep up.

Why do we act like this? Because of fake promises, no information, complete ignorance from someone who we had respect for making awesome gaming gear.

Why should they update a blog? To show that they actually give a damn and are doing something, but as far as this went they don’t care about anything but making money which it is all about these days, oh and in case u think that I think like this only about Razer, sry I don’t there are tons of more companies for which I wouldn’t even spend 1 cent for their products.

Been waiting since late last year for these things, signed up for the notification list and all that obviously. Then finally I see the e-mail about them being released and how excited I was that they even gave some sort of activation code that was only valid for 30 days (or, more specifically, 30 days from when that e-mail was sent to me – ending on February 29th). I figured that would mean there was either an ample amount since, you know..most companies plan and produce according to demand, or that I would at the very least be able to use the code for some extra free stuff. Now, nearly a month after that validation code has expired, I’m still sitting around with my thumb up my ass because this company doesn’t understand they should just make more. Oh well, you guys are losing out on a metric fuckton of business here and I for one will never buy these headphones when, or if, they’re ever available to the public.

I honestly agree with most people who hate Razer for this whole thing. Razer handled it incredibly unprofessionally and I honestly think that it’s a marketing ploy to get people even more excited for the Tiamat, which should NOT be needed for headsets of this quality. I’ve been waiting for my CHRISTMAS gift for months now and I’m fed up. I ordered the astra A40 today because I am sick of waiting for Razer’s bullshit release dates… from what I’ve read so far, the tiamat isn’t even that great.

People, it’s really not worth all the waiting. Just get something else… Astro, Sennheiser, Steelseries, anything. Still, Razer makes great products and if my mouse/keyboard(it better not break anything soon, this blackwidow is supposed to last for a while ) I’ll definetly buy a razer again.

I figure they’ve messed up so bad with communication and getting this headset finished, that they figure they can’t please us anymore, and have deemed this headset a failure in their books. they will still make a couple until people blow off in time. why focus on a failure when you could focus on other keyboards and things that were successful.

I will make an analogy. razer is like a kid going to college. you begin with 5 classes. as time goes on, you realize your not doing good in one of them, so you stop going. you go to the exams and things, but you don’t attend classes. this gives you time to make excellent grades in other classes, which winds up balancing your GPA. in the end, you pass that one bad class with a D-.

I would still prefer that they offer us a PreOrder option so we can lock in our order. To me it is crazy that they just don’t do this. It makes no sense to me.

I have a theory on what the issue is with there production. This is just a theory though.They are probably waiting for a certain amount to be built at the factory before they ship them to there warehouses. This is just a common practice to save money on shipping. Lets just say they make a hundred or so to fill an order for the truck. Also there factory is probably small as well. Not to mention that they do only have one from what I remember reading. So basically we have to wait for this small order to be built then shipped from the factory to the warehouse, then they ship them out individually from there to the customers. Personally my opinion would be to ship each order directly from the factory. Hopefully they are doing this but I seriously doubt it.Now… Since they have only one factory you will see other products be affected as well. Hence the fact some of the other products like ME3 keyboards are also not available. They basically could have small amounts of people in the factory trying to build a range of different products. To fill the orders from one they have to take people from the other orders. Its a juggling act. I personally think they need more factories. I hope they already do but last I read they only had one.

Anyways that is my theory. I could be wrong, but it is similar to what I have seen before. In fact my brother works in a place that runs into this issue for the very same reason.

They really need to look at this whole event and try to learn from it so that they can improve things for there company. Investing in more would be great. Like say maybe put a factory in the US instead of overseas like Taiwan which is where I think I read it was at.

OH well I think its just time for me to go off and relax. Maybe I’ll spend this money I saved waiting for this on a tablet. Maybe the ASUS Transformer Prime or something. At least until they get enough of these headsets built for everyone to have one. I already have quite a few headset. I just wanted one of these as they seemed better. I have been waiting since last year. A bit longer is OK for now, even though it sucks to wait longer than what we already have.

This is fucking ridiculous. Waiting for the past 5 months, hoping to get one of a batch. But no they got sold out after 4 fucking minutes and than they keep spoiling us with t-shirts and flasks just to keep us waiting some longer for nothing. Razer can stick the tiamat up in their ass.

EPIC FAILURE BY RAZER!!!!!!   Absolutely horrid customer support!  All talk, and no walk.  How sad it is with the economy in such a lowly state.  Consumers are pinching every penny they spend, yet Razer has the audacity to not only release a product very very late (promised in August of 2011!!), they then fail to inform their customers who registered to be notified of the initial product release.  Then, on top of that they release the product in the early morning where only their pet boys of the development team knew about it so they would get their order in while the rest of the faithful customer base got screwed over.  You guys are totally unproefessional assholes.  The Razer president should IMMEDIATELY FIRE THE DEPARTMENT MANAGER for the new Tiamat headset products!!  Get someone who really respects the customers and honors the reputation that Razer has built for the past decade – get rid of that moron now and start fresh and clean!

Yet I am not sure if they mentioned anything about those people that tried them and they did not work when they got their order to go through. You know the lucky one that got to order but had an unlucky time getting the codes to work or didn’t enter it by mistake. I have not seen them say anything about that. I just know that they are extending the codes so they last longer than a month.

Sadly again, besides wrong and without a tiamat, I did neither whine nor complain after missing the first wave. I got over it and tried again in honor of my gamer brothers and sisters. If it helps, I’ll save you the wrapper though so you can feel better:)

Honestly i don’t know why anyone is even still complaining, the second batch was the last straw for me i hit complete order at 11:04 and it was sold out. I suggest looking into Turtle Beaches new 5.1 headset, its the one i just bought.

well today i just gave up just orderd a new Tritton pca 5.1 headset for 70€ alot cheeper and hay geuss what i will actualy get a headset this time around i was going to order the mamba but i did not for one reason its a razer product an i just wont buy any thing more from razer again.

i went for the logitech g 35 .After all i dont want to wait another like 2-3 months , and my gaming machine is a laptop , so thats why i had second thoughts.I hope the tiamats will be worth the waiting.Keep calm and wait for the batches;D

They don’t want to admit it but they make 5 units a month and they don’t like their customers at all by refusing to give any detailed information that would create a bigger uproar than there already is. Lol, the only reason that you have even the slightest bit of joy is because you got lucky with the second wave. I’ve waited since August last year for my headsets and never got them. You acting cocky like a little fuck is cute and all but i bet you they didn’t tell you the faults about the headset before you bought it. 1. There is a buzzing noise in the headset once you turn your computer on. 2. The mic is has a lot of static and cannot be heard well. i spent my money on a ducky shine dk9008s mech keyboard cherry blue mx (green led)since i wanted one for a long time and seeing that razer does not have a keyboard in that color. but mainly because by the time 4-6 weeks pasts for the restock on the tiamats i will already get my paychecks by then…i rather buy the things i want…that I CAN BUY right now. instead of saving up my money for the hope of getting a tiamat. as for headsets i already have a g930(hate charging it every now and then loses connections breifly)  but i want a wired headset with true 7.1 so i will wait for the tiamats.

I bought my psyko carbon after the first wave, I now know I made the right decision thanks razer. I will never own another razer product(already have a mamba and blackwidow) I also signed up for the notify me and never got an email.

Just checked that mid-end april the new release date,,,  I nearly wait half year to this tiamat, don’t care anymore. I fix my old Zalman RS6F and freeing up the tiamat money.

I will not be buying a tiamat, I have been waiting far too long, We all know that they are using the “out of stock” as an excuse for something bigger. I’m tired of waiting, and with the way they have POORLY treated us in this situation, I will never be purchasing a razer product again.

 Razer you have lost a customer, and I’m sure that there will be much more to follow (I’ll ensure that). And another thing I should probably mention, seeing that I have been giving you the benefit of the doubt these past few years. Your products are poorly made and become very worn, very easily. Looking at the situation they seem to be using the same marketing tactics as the Monster Tron T1s that were supposed to be released ages ago but never turned up. Move on to something better and don’t get cornered!

 I honestly don’t think this has been all that terrible, I have bought 15+ Razer products for myself and others over the last two years and never had a problem. I think they have made a genuine mistake in saying they would deliver in January. When they finally did the first round release only a small few people were able to get them. This is the nature of business, shit happens. I know for a fact once they do a full scale release I will be getting a quality product that I will be extremely satisfied with.

Please people, I understand the frustration but just be patient and wait for their quality product to be ready.

I just thought of an idea Razer.Since I have decided to move on and start looking at some other products instead of waiting for chance to get one of these Tiamat 7.1 headsets, I had started to think of things that I could get instead. One of the items that came across my mind was the Megaladon. But there was a problem with going that route; which is that I am sort of displeased with you guys over this Tiamat debacle. Not to mention that I have always thought the price for the Megaladon was a little to high for it.

Anyways here is my idea:
Why not cut the price on the Megaladon for us. I may consider buying one of those if the price was cut since its the older product and should not be as good as the Tiamat. I held off buying them in the past do to the price being a little to high for them. Now would be a good time to lower the price of them. You may get more sales for them if you do this. Maybe even by those of us that are tired of waiting for Tiamat. May even keep us from going to another company to get a headset. As you can see some have already jumped ship from buying from you. To stop some of those losses you all need to be quick and think of some ways to please us. At least the many of us in the community that are upset with you all over this Tiamat debacle. In my opinion I think a price cut would satisfy some of us. I know it would for me. At the very least you all could make the codes you gave us a discount for the Megaladon instead? It would be a lot better than the Flask that I and many will not use and a shirt that will not fit me and others as your Large size is like a medium or even small in some places like the US. Plus at this rate I doubt I will ever get a chance to use the codes to begin with. At least at the rate you all are making these headsets.

Anyways that is my idea. Since you all ( Razer|Quick ) seem to be a bit quite in the blog now, I do not expect to get a reply. But it would be cool if you did.

Two months later… where’s this “uber” headset? I thought it wasn’t a call back? Seems like you must be completely redesigning it. I have other pieces of razer gear and really wanted to get this headset, but I can’t wait forever.
