Update:

If you are having problems generating your Crystal Code through Synapse 2.0, try uninstalling then reinstalling the program. It should work after.

There is a known issue with the mouse not keeping its settings in wireless mode, and we are working on an update to this in the drivers.

A quick workaround for this would be to make all settings in wired mode.

Regarding the Headset code generation, we found an issue with the detection of the serial numbers in the headsets, causing an error when generating the code. This is being worked on and the fix will be patched in to Synapse 2.0 soon.

At 1€ = 1,3US$ current exchange rate, Razer should rethink that.

Right, so you release these peripherals but you don’t release the drivers for them and require the use of software that is invite only beta to claim the in game item for purchasing these?  Who’s brainchild was this?

  • Beafor

So when can I use my product? I have to get lucky and get an invite just to use the software? Seriously? If it’s not out by the 20th, this is the last Razer product I ever buy, what a joke.

‎$140 for the mouse, $130 for the headset, $250 for the keyboard, NO DRIVERS, NO SOFTWARE, and that exclusive in game crystal with purchase? yeah, you need to be invited into the beta for the software required to claim it. Good Job, Razer. Way to build customer loyalty. Now ask me if I’d recommend you to my friends. Go on, ask.

  • Eaumand

Got my mouse, kind of disappointed, the battery seems to die on me after less than 10 hours of gameplay, the software doesn’t retain my settings when I plug it into wired mode, and not only that, but I found out it was not even exclusive to razerstore, I could have saved the 30$ UPS fee I received when they showed up at my door by buying through NCIX for the same price.

I LOVE this mouse and was willing to fork out the somewhat overpriced sum for it, but I expect a few things when I pay that much:
1- Available software & Drivers out of the box
2- If you’re going to make me surf your site for them, at least make it so that I can find it easily
3- Make sure the software works.
4- Include a battery that doesn’t die after just a few short hours.  Yes I charged it fully for 6-7 hours before I used it.

OK so that is all I have to say about it.

Anyway we can get an official response on these issues?  as well, I’d ask for extra battery to be shipped as well, since the one I have doesnt live up to the tech specs listed (i.e. supposed to be 12hours of continuous play).

    THanks!

  • CimTaurus

I got the mouse and loved it for 2 days.  On the third day everything but the right mouse button stopped working.
This was a Christmas present.  I am not happy.

  • Ravenspen

I just got this mouse and went to install the synapse drivers so I could change the colors and adjust the sensitivity… “Network not available” not to mention you had to go looking for the drivers with no clear link in the limited install with the product only to find several of the advertised features aren’t available because they’re dependent on an online service that isn’t online… very poor product launch.  I’m already debating canceling my keyboard order based on the experience with the mouse.

wireless mode does not work properly with this mouse, i have tried to change the settings in wired mode but as soon as i switch it to wireless the settings change to really low settings even though it says its the same.  trying to change them in wireless mode doesn’t work either.  guess ill be playing in wired mode till they fix this

I just updated to the latest software.. same issues as before.  I attempt to “Open Razer Synapse 2.0″ and nothing happens.  I was able to make an account when it first installed, but have never seen the program render any other screen.   Ever.  Win7 Ultimate x64.

  • Heyman

When i first installed the software it rendered on screen.  The “create your account” stuffs.  After that I’ve never been able to get it to show me anything.

  • Koran

I confirm the issue with the color crystal code… Your solution doesn’t work… tried to unistall and reinstall several times but always it says “FAILED” when you try to generate a code

Please fix this issue and all the other quickly. I’ve ordered on the 5th of December and received it today while in the moment of the order the predicted shipping day was the 13 of december. I have waited for a month and in addiction it’s not fully functional?

Not a good job for me

  • Albert S

I cannot get the mouse to work. I can charge it but that’s about it. The software keeps telling me to connect a Razer Synapse 2.0 device even though it’s already connected. There’s no number for customer support and no response to my e-mail.

You need to get this sorted.

  • Jarmst231

it gives me a code but the swtor site tells me its not good

  • Carmien

DUDE…I have just installed the software and no matter how many emails I use to create an account I get told I’ve entered an invalid password.  When I go to reset the password I REPEATEDLY get told that the email or recaptcha is incorrect.

You guys REALLY need to sort this out.  This is a terrible out of the box experience.  Right now I’ve got a mouse but no software to drive the buttons.  If you’re going to launch a cloud service like this have a local alternative.  Forcing me through an account system when your authentication engine is broken is really, really poor product management and development!

I’ve emailed through the support page.  Some kind of response given the torrent of dissatisfaction already entered on this page is likely to be slow…

  • CimTaurus

I have to give credit to the support guys over at Razer.  They contacted me right away and have been very helpful in getting me a replacement unit.  I am still not excited that I am going to be without my Christmas present for about a month, but at least I feel Razer is doing everything they can to fix the problem.

If I set the mouse to spectrum cycling, it ends up getting stuck on purple and won’t change anymore.  Works in wired mode fine.

  • Keii Graham

Whenever I switch from Wired to Wireless mode, Synapse 2.0 informs me that I must plug in a Synapse 2.0 device. Unless I start the Synapse 2.0 program in wireless mode, it won’t detect the mouse in wireless mode. Even then the mouse is slow as dirt. As soon as I plug it into wired mode and put it back into Wireless mode, I get the same issue with it not detecting.

Generate Color Crystal Code does not work. I get Failed every time. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall as suggested but it do no good. Same issues.

Occasionally in wireless mode the mouse misses clicks. Don’t know how else to explain it other than clicking and waiting for something to happen but nothing happens, I have to click again. Happens about 10% of clicks.

My first Razer product was the Mamba mouse. This is my second. The battery life on both is poor. I cannot go a full day on a single charge on either mouse. Compare that with every Logitech mouse I’ve ever owned that, even on the end of its lifespan, will still manage to go for a week between charges. You should definitely consider talking with Logitech and find out why their batteries are so good.

The rubber nubs that were sent for tactile feeling for the 12 buttons are of poor quality, with nearly half of them being useless because the sticky portion comes off on the paper it’s shipped on.

I was under the impression that the color changing feature of the mouse was for the entire mouse, not just the scroll wheel. The Empire/Republic logo and 12 keys remain yellow. That looks tacky.

All these problems after the mouse was already delayed on Shipping by a month due to backorder.

So far my experience with this mouse has been poor.

There was one thing I was pleasantly surprised to learn though upon first opening my mouse, the magnetic lock on the panel that houses the battery, as well as the magnetic lock on the charging station are a very nice touch. Kudos.

  • Badkolo

what if i dont want to play star wars, jesus christ, you guys make a ultimate keyboard that everyone wants yet its geared for star wars, when are you making a version for the masses, dont be like asus with the transformer prime and the mess they now have, send out drivers and fix your product before you sell it

  • Quentyn

Just purchased the razer star wars mouse. downloaded and installed synapse 2.0 and am unable to generate the crystal code. tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times as the support site says, but it’s still not generating a crystal code. tried to email, but still haven’t heard from razer technical support.

  • Quentyn

Tech support was great, someone got back to me via email with a code that worked. Now I have an awesome mouse and cool green and black crystals for my lightsabre! Thanks!

  • Daniel

Hi im wondering what am i suppost to do with the crystal code with this product? I’ generated the code, typed it in at swtor.com and it just flings me back to the prevoius page no code accepted or anything.. when i try doing this with a typo in the code i get an error.

    So.. whats up :p

  • Mag

I cannot create account on Synaple, the button is greyed out. Any suggestions?

  • Vegito Chan

Well I bought the Swtor Gaming Mouse, and Swtor Gaming Mouse Mat, along with a different Razer mouse for my father. I installed Synapse 2.0, connected the mouse, got the code through Synapse 2.0 However it was fired back as a Invalid code when entered on my account  at swtor.com

I’ve contacted razer customer service about this multiple times, I’ve jumped through their hoops, including having to take a screenshot of the error page, and taking a physical picture of the serial on the bottom of my mouse(this just wowed me, really? not everyone has a digital camera.) Its been 2 days now, and nothing. This combined with all the trouble I’ve had with the CS over the past week in unrelated issues, and the fact that there is No customer service phone number to call. Just leaves me thinking, maybe I don’t want to do buisness with razer anymore.

If you expect your customers to fork out excessive ammounts of money for products like the Swtor razer mouse, make sure that, A: the software works, and B: you provide reasonable, and timely customer service.

I’m also quite shocked that there is no mention of these problems of the codes not working in the above statement, or anywhere else by razer for that matter. This is not a isolated issue, I’ve seen quite a few people effected by this problem. Yet theres no guide on how to go about contacting customer service, with the proper information(to avoid multiple e-mails with your customer service taking multiple days for a reply each time) Seriously, razer, you dropped the ball here, and it seems you’re staring at it rolling around at your feet, refusing to pick it up.

  • David Mayer

The new 2.0 drivers (Razer_Synapse2_v1.00.06) STILL do NOT fix the crashing problem with the software. Everytime I try to open the synapse software it crashes. I’m using a Alienware Area 51 Windows 7 Ultimate x64. This problem REALLY needs to be fixxed. I have used razer products since I have known of the company. If I feel like finding a new company after many years of using your stuff think of the newer customers who will never come back. Also if this continues and is not fixxed there is no reason for me not to cancel my pre-order of the keyboard now is there?

  • Runamonk

There are some serious issues with Synapse 2.0. Right now I click on it and it doesn’t open, the process loads, then unloads. Seriously 130quid for a mouse and I cannot run the associated software that’s needed to program it? Guess what is going to get returned?

  • Dalwhinnie

PLEASE CONNECT A RAZER SYNAPSE 2.0 ENABLED DEVICE.  I have installed and uninstalled and re-installed and it keeps saying that.  Drivers and firmware latest and greatest.  What am I doing wrong?

  • Runamonk

You aren’t doing anything wrong. The software is really buggy and shouldn’t have been released from beta.

  • Runamonk

I have all the exact same issues. I don’t understand how this mouse could be released and basically only work in wired mode.

1.) Same issue. Switched to wired mode most of the time. Slightly disappointing, but no big deal.

2.) Worked perfectly for me. My guess is the amount of working codes vs the non working codes is a landslide in our favor. Bad luck, but it happens. More then one user has got a functioning code by emailing them with their issue. If you haven’t tried that I would give it a go.

3.) Never had that, but the mouse jumps (When I am looking around it will suddenly be looking at the sky) every once in awhile.

4.) My battery life has never been poor on my Razer mice. I use one at work for about 8 hours constantly with no problems. And that’s active use, not sleeping. I also use a bluetooth one for when I take my laptop on the road (That uses regular batteries but there is no excessive drain, however) and my SWTOR one here at home (Which is mostly wired, but I do use the wireless for extended periods of time). Don’t know what to tell ya.

5.) The rubber nubs are for training. They are not intended to be permanent. Some of mine got screwed up with the glue too, but after about a week or so I peeled them off anyways because I had learned where the buttons were. Towards the end I was only using about 2 total to center myself.

6.) Your impression doesn’t equate to fact. I haven’t seen a picture with a red Empire symbol or a blue Republic symbol (Or whatever color) nor did they say “Change every light option on this mouse!11!!!” That’s your own assumption and not really their fault at all.

7.) Never had the issue of it being two separate devices, but it would occasionally erase my profiles when switching between the two.

8.) I had this problem mostly when trying to create profiles in wireless mode. When I created them while wired in they were more reliable (Real time saving vs Saving when the mouse is idle).

There have been bumps, I agree, and a lot of stuff they definitely need to fix. Having said that, my experience with them has pretty much always been on the positive side and they work to fix the problems as quick as they can. There is no magic “Fix all this crap” button, and no amount of people screaming, cussing or getting angry is going to change that (Not implying that you are doing any of those 3 things).

6-7 of the 8 things listed aren’t really preventing me from using the device to pretty much its full potential while playing. They are mostly superficial. Occasionally I have thrown the huttball in a random direction due to the jumping bug, but other then that the experience has been pretty fantastic. I still prefer it to all the other mice I have used.

  • John Benteu

Try emailing their support. More effective then posting here.

  • John Benteu

Yes, throw threats. Very awesome of you and not petulant at all. If you have “used razer products since you have known the company” then I hope I can safely assume that you have been using them awhile, yes? And since you have been using them awhile they have probably worked pretty well, otherwise why would you bother coming back?

Sometimes stuff breaks. Sometimes computers go out of wack. Sometimes things conflict and it just doesn’t work. Instead of crying and throwing a tantrum, try working with them in a polite manner to resolve the issue. I’m sure this not the first or last thing in your sordid life that will malfunction or have problems. Deal with it like an intelligent person.

And by the way, I’m running an Alienware M18x with Windows Ultimate x64 with NO problems what so ever. Obviously there is something conflicting with YOUR system and the software. This stuff happens and it could even be due to your system itself.

Remember that the entity on the other end of that email is a HUMAN BEING and deserving of your respect. They go to work to pull a paycheck so they can live. They get crappy emails and phone calls from people like you and they still try to do the best they can to resolve your issue as fast as they can (If for no other reason then to get you the hell out of their hair). You know who is going to get his issue solved faster though? Me, because I don’t act like a douche.

    Cheers mate.

  • Daniel

Hi i’m having a big issue with the mouse i bought from razer..

it worked perfectly the first days until the new firmware update came out, my mouse just suddenly started updating after i turned on the pc.

But the firmware update stopped in the middle and didn’t get to 100%.
I waited 3 hours and nothing happend so i was forced to reboot the pc.

Now when i turned on the pc the mouse lights were on but not responding.
synamps started up and the lights on the mouse died, the computer cant find the device with wireless or wired.. only the docking station..

How do i reset the firmware now??? I’m clueless i have a mouse that doesn’t work anymore and i cant figure out what to do to fix it.

When plugging the mouse wia wire the system installs something called Razer Bootloader. and stops.

No respons from the mouse, no lights no nothing..

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/MZR7Y5RVHF56H5JGALZHLAMNLE Dane

With the firmware update yesterday, none of my side buttons are functioning with the keys I have bound to them.  I’ve tried closing Synapse and re-running, switching to wireless and it just doesn’t respond at all, re-binding the buttons.  None of that has worked.  I even have set them to disabled and they still function as though they were turned on and at the default key clicks on them.

I’m a long time Razer customer and fan, but this is really turning me off on them.  I’ve got an RMA # for my mouse, and it doesn’t say anything about paid shipping back to them, so they expect me to pay extra for the broken crap they sent me?

  • JD

I had this same issue. Because the window is black, its hard to see, but there is a little check box to the left of the sentence that asks if you agree to the privacy policy and legal terms. Check that box (should show a green check mark), then the create account button becomes clickalble.

  • JD

I have this same issue. Windows 7, 64-bit OS.

  • JD

Check the box (hard to see, if not impossible, with the black screen) on the agree to privacy policy line. Then the create account button will be clickable.

  • Erik Mahlum

Currently I am having an issue with the Synapse 2.0.  I just received my SWTOR Headset and it will not let me create an account through the Synapse login. I click “create account” enter in my information and it never lights up the create account button again.

  • Asergaottie

I can use the mouse fine. I got the worthless crystal fine (it’s only a level 5 crystal so by the time you make 10 or 12 its obsolete. The synapse 2.0 downloaded and installed, did an update. Worked once and now it just says Razer Synapse stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working, Please close the program now. Running as admin, backwards compatibility and re-installing did not help either. Same issue. install update automatically and crashes.

  • Eric

Just a quick note that after the recent firmware update that was done, the mouse STILL does not retain the settings when switching from wired to wireless.  Creating settings in wired mode, then swapping to wireless then back to wired and I have to reset everything again…. it’s getting to be quite disappointing, this was my first pucrhase with Razer, I’m utterly unimpressed in the end.

THough my battery issue was resolved quite effectively, I still am very displeased about the software performance that comes with the mouse, also when in wireless, at times I click and nothing happens, I have to often click more than once…   for a mouse that cost so much, it’s not worth it’s current 50$ mice found in Futureshop… a plain Logitech mouse with less buttons perhaps, but defintely would offer a better performance….

You guys need to get your stuff together…   a great potential on the swtor line, but I will stop my purchases at the mouse…

  • Bolder63

Received my mouse today after waiting on backorder.  Synapse started up and got stuck.  Now it will not recognize mouse at all.  PC identifies mouse as a Razer Bootloader.  No lights work no buttons have uninstalled and re-installed the software, I have no idea what to do at this point very frustrated.  I have 2 Razer Nagas and never had this type of problem.

I would hope for some more help from support and soon.  Would hate to have to return this item.

  • Daedricprime

This is the worst mouse experience I have had, EVER.

    1) Nowhere to you advertise that you require us to provide email and have a “subscription” here to even get the crystal code.
    2) The buttons just simulate pressing “1″ etc, I’ve already got a gaming keyboard that does that.
    3) Synapse DOESN’T EVEN WORK.  I install and re-install, and all it does is silently crash after “verifying account” (*yes I created an account, etc*).  That window goes away and then nothing. Process still “running” in Task Manager.

In desperation I google for help, and all I find is this page, where a post that refers to issue #3 hasn’t even been RESPONDED TO for a month!

Flashy web pages and dialogs can’t cover up word of mouth on crappy software guys, for this amount of money you should have provided a quality product, not @afa77bfd6297d23b20a23a8261a4b642:disqus ***.

  • Unlucky User

Same issue for me that others have had. I plugged in the SWTOR mouse in wired mode via USB, it lit up and worked fine, then I downloaded the Synapse 2.0 installer. Installed it and it hung a couple of times, including during the firmware update, but eventually it completed the install and update, though not the firmware update. After a reboot, the software update/install finished but the mouse is dead. No lights. No nothing. Windows recognizes the mouse when I plug it in but windows can’t find the driver for it. And Synapse 2.0 doesn’t recognize the device. I even tried to download the firmware updater and when I run it it says “no device detected.”

I’m running Windows Vista 64 with Service Pack 2. I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing Synapse. I’ve even tried running it as administrator and in “windows xp (service pack 2) compatibility mode.”

  • Eric

A quick note about this issue though.. I do want to make a point and note that the CUSTOMER SERVICE after sales and the speed at which they are responding is OUTSTANDING and though the product was released with lots of little bugs, it is still a GREAT mouse and again the service is outstanding and makes all the difference in customer retention, worth noting that this level of customer service is one that is rarely seen… we thank you Razer team for that.  Keep up the good work in solving these issues, I feel we’re almost there.

  • Unlucky User

I received some help, not a solution, but at least a quick response by a marketing guy on this site late last night and I was impressed. No word back from actual customer service/support but it has been less than 24 hours. But I did want to say this to “Eric.” If the comment is posted by a customer, that’s great, but otherwise companies should be careful if their employees post stuff like this. The Federal Trade Commission doesn’t look too kindly on secretly sponsored messages pawned off as feedback from fans. BUT, again, if it’s really from a customer, that’s cool. And I too have found them to be responsive.

  • Unlucky User

Update: I worked with a marketing guy for Razer who walked me through attempting to update the firmware late last night. Thanks, bro. I followed the instructions (set the mouse to charge mode, press all three mouse buttons, and then plug it in), got my PC to recognize the mouse as “Razer Bootloader” but the firmware updater for the mouse  – which I downloaded fresh last night from the link provided — still says “no device detected.” No lights, no mouse movement, nothing.

Brought it in to work and it plugged it in. Still no lights or motion… and I’m not going to risk installing Synapse on my work PC.

I really hope my working theory that Synapse fried my mouse proves to be not correct. Right now it’s looking that way.

  • ThatOneGuy

That usually happens if the update/installation gets updated (IE: Closed. Killed. Comp restarted). Contact their CS and they should be able to help you fix that.

    I’m starting to get frustrated.
The mouse worked the first days but after that stupid firmware update my mouse and docking station died. No lights or anything, i’ve contacted support and i got a download location for the firmware without that stupid buggy crap program called Synapse.Still cannot install the mouse, no device detected, tried the 3 button thing as support told me to do still not working.tried on 2 different systems. Still nothing.i actually had to go and buy a new mouse since i bought this mouse to replace my old one.I’m returning the mouse in the end of the week if there aint a fix incoming soon.

  • Lee

Same for us have had 2 replies from support on how to fix this and non of them work connect the dock says no device found connect the mouse says no device found so cannot update firmare or anything

  • http://cult.razerzone.com/ Razer|Quick

Try unplugging the mouse, then holding the right, left, and scroll buttons, plug it back in and run the firmware updater. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to contact our support http://www.razersupport.com/email and we’ll make sure that we get your mouse working again.

  • http://cult.razerzone.com/ Razer|Quick

For the mouse try unplugging it, then holding the right, left, and scroll buttons down, plug it back in and run the firmware updater. For the dock, hold pairing and plug it into the USB, then run the firmware updater. If those don’t work, you’ll need to contact our support again www.razersupport.com/email and let them know so we can help you out.

  • Unlucky User

Update: Still working with tech support to get this fixed. Razer is being very responsive and helpful but no solution has been found. I tried all the workarounds proposed and still get the “no device detected” error for both the mouse and the dock. No lights on the mouse or dock since the first attempt to patch the firmware (which got stuck at 0%). No responsiveness from the mouse. Synapse does not detect either of them them when they are plugged in.

So I am holding tight, waiting for Razer to find a solution. It’s an inconvenience but I do believe they are doing everything they can. Hope they do so soon because I am very eager to use my new mouse to play SWTOR! :)

  • Daedricprime

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I will do so. But please understand that making your customers to resort to email support for basic software issues in your “drivers” (which weren’t even included in the product) isn’t exactly exciting.  This is the modern Internet, people what to google and find the answers.  For solving an issue, Now is always better than Later!  =)

I have no desire to troubleshoot your software product, _especially_ via email, I just want to be able to use my mouse, and get the “crystal” code that your marketing materials promised were included in the product (which practically speaking is deceptive, at best, in my opinion.)  I find it telling that this is carefully avoided in your materials accessible pre-purchase.  Had I known I would have to download a software program, and subscribe to a “service” that clearly wanted a valid email for marketing purposes, I would have never expressed interest in this mouse.  (A family member bought it as a gift thinking I really desired it.)

Also, “my” problem is not specific to me, clearly. You can see that by a google for the core details I mentioned.  In fact, in this thread there’s some poor soul who mentioned this/related issue with no answer. As I mentioned before.  Why not just fix your software so it can run?   And then post workaround/solutions publically so I don’t have to spend days getting your software to work?

Is that unreasonable to expect?  =)    [ the answer is no ]

  • Daedricprime

Also, I should add, I really did try a lot of workarounds for this issue.  I even gave the mouse to my wife (she has a Micro Velocity pre-built and I have a FNW Mach IV ) and after your software “validated account” it wanted to install updates.  It was at this point her Internet stopped working.  She was on the LAN and other machines on the LAN were fine.  It was just her machine, where the problem occurred almost immediately after installing your software.  This does not inspire confidence in me about getting your software to work.

  • http://cult.razerzone.com/ Razer|Quick

I understand where you’re coming from. The reason we need to have people go through support is because with software, it could be a number of different things, unique to the user, that are going wrong. Hence, we need to deal with these customers on an individual basis. Also, we’ve got a whole support section that includes a knowledge base with FAQs on basic questions.

  • http://cult.razerzone.com/ Razer|Quick

Be sure to check for an email from Alvin. He said he sent you an email about the code and the mouse :)

  • Daniel

as i wrote in my post i tried the three button plug in “fix” but it is not working.

Support aint much help either so i’ve returend my mouse.

two friends of mine has the same problem, i find it very very odd that there is no fix for this issue yet.

  • http://cult.razerzone.com/ Razer|Quick

Well, sorry that the reflash didn’t work for you, it should fix the problem. If you still happen to have your mouse, would you mind telling me your support number so we can RMA your mouse and get you a new one. Have your friends emailed support? If so, could you get me their ticket numbers so support can help them out or could you ask them to email support if they haven’t already?

Please help.  I’m looking for the product registration code for the Star Wars mouse pad.  I check the back of the pad and nothing.  Nothing in the documentation that came with the pad.  The only other thing that I could think of is product code on the actual box.  That didn’t work as it said it was already used.  The RZ02-00660100-R3M1.   Do I have to register it with the UPC?  Thanks much.

and i have all the drivers and firmware and it still wont even pop up on my dang screen. i am really really frustrated and dont know how to fix it i am running windows 7 64-bit, and it just wont respond at all -.-

  • concerned customer

Take this Synapse 2.0 back to beta, this is just too much. And i cant get my color crystal, i cant change the color on my mouse… And im pretty upset about it, don’t advertise that it can do it if the program needed to use it DOESN’T WORK. This is very disappointing especially since i was so excited to get the mouse.

  • Romantica

It said “Please connect a razer synapse 2.0 enabled device”
    what should I do?

  • Ranulf

Exactly the same situation here, but I am not able to put it in “Razer Bootloader” mode in order to update it. Tried pairing button while connecting to usb, but PC detected nothing new.

  • Ranulf

Update: Got it to “Razer Bootloader” mode. Tried using both .inf files on Common Drivers in Razor folder, but got “Code 10″ device doesn’t work.

  • Unlucky User

Razer tech support ultimately resolved my problem. But I won’t be installing Synapse or any other Razer software for fear it may mess things up again.

I consider the matter resolved to my satisfaction. It took a while but Razer had adequate follow-through to make it happen.

  • Revetahw

Did you get Synapse working again?  If so, what did you do to fix it?  I’m having the same problem as you.  I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and deleting/updating drivers and firmware in ever possible combination but nothing works.

  • Bu WeiLong

Okay, I’m posting this here since I don’t seem to be getting any real help from Razer Customer Support.

    Let me start
by saying this is the most god awful customer service experience I have
ever had in my life.  I have had your product for almost three weeks,
sitting in a box on my desk and have had no way of using it.  Meanwhile,
I’ve been waiting for return information and you send me the SAME
instructions I started with (the SAME instructions that I informed you
DID NOT WORK the first time).  And no return/exchange information.
Thank you for doing nothing to help me, it has been a ride.

I will explain the situation again, and hopefully someone will read THE WHOLE E-MAIL before sending anything back.

When I first started trying to update the mouse, it was working.  I
installed synapse, and once I logged in.  It stopped working.  I then
tried to run the mouse firmware updater.  It told me no device
detected.  I tried running the dock updater with the dock plugged in.
No device detected.  This has been THE PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME.

Now, when I plug in the mouse my computer does not recognize it as a
mouse.  It comes up in the device manager under OTHER DEVICES AS AN
UNKNOWN DEVICE. Usually, the way to fix this problem, is to simply
install the drivers.  But since I cannot install the drivers without
using synapse, and synapse won’t work unless it detects a Razer device
(mine comes up as an UNKNOWN DEVICE) I can’t do that.

If you send me an e-mail about an exchange, I just want to return the product for a refund.  If we can get it to work, great.

  • Garland

I received my mouse today, I have not had any problems with the functionality of the mouse itself but I cannot get synapse to generate a code for my color crystal. This is so frustrating, the color crystal was a huge reason why I bought the mouse in the first place but I am not able to redeem it? Such a joke!

  • Garland

Shorty after I posted this I was helped by Alvin, who was very helpful. I never expected to get this resolved so quickly, and so late in the day… I couldn’t be happier now.

Thanks again! if anyone has the problem I was having, try not to get too frustrated they’ll help you out.

The mouse works great, Synapse 2.0 is utter garbage, the crystal generator code was apparently written by a 5 year old with a crayon on his mother’s wall. So within 24 hrs of making my ticket complaining about the crystal key generator giving “FAILED” because it obviously can’t seem to connect with checking out the S/N# on the device I am told that my complaint was sent with expedience to the guys in charge of generating codes… I should have it in 1-2 business days. So keep waiting… FFS it’s a key generator, it’s not scientific code for splitting dark matter. What a waste.. again mouse works great but I dont think I’ll be purchasing any of your products again. Don’t promise what you can’t deliver. I’ll make sure to tell the 4 guildies of mine not to buy from you again either.

ok. so i was complaining before about star wars keyboard, that i had 3 bad experience,

1, the color generate code did not work,
    2. the macros was not working
3 installing the synpase 2 program with other Razer program for the mouse and Hydra brought blue screen to my windows, and i had big problem.

i contact the support team , and maybe they are slow, but they deliver the solution, i am so happy of the customer service i got, they really proven to me that it was worth that i bought many product from them,

first they fixed the problem witht the color generate program,
second the provide a guide for me to use the macros, and worked like a charm,
third they advices me to do some steps to find solution for the blue screen, and i am doing it right now, and i am not having problem anymore,

really really this keyboard rocks now, i love it, and it worth my money, i even bought the star wars mouse pad, and it is really good well made product, even thought i had 2 types of razer mouse pads, as well the steel mouse pad, but this one i love the design and the feeling,

i dont know thought if i should get the mouse since many people said it is not worth the upgrade if you have Razer Naga epic which i have, so i may skip the mouse,

but really thank you Razer for delivering a good product, and for your support, just be fast on it next time!!! thank u again for being patience and for your help,
i need to have more patience next time!

Hi im having an issue with my mouse, i belive the issue is the bootloader, i cant find the drivers for it, tried resetting the mouse like in the guide, win7 wont download anything, is there somewhere i can find the bootloader files? so my system actually knows what that device is :]

  • R3dronin

Just got my keyboard in, plugged it in, lit up, screen flashed the logo….then I tried installing Synapse 2.0 and midway through I get a message saying install failed, and my keyboard goes dark. Now, Synapse asks me to plug in a compatible device (when I can get Synapse to run at all).  Everything I’ve tried since 4PM today has not worked, I have a 260+ dollar paperweight.  I sent in a request email, but really? for this kind of money it should work out of the box, and yes, come with some sort of driver CD. My first purchase from Razer, so far, I’m really feeling cheated.

  • Pheareus

ok.  love the keyboard.  The mouse disconnects every so often where I have to unplug the dock.  Synapse….. blows chunks.  It’s laggy and unpredictable.  I would prefer a dedicated offline mode.  This garbage of a program sucks.

  • Ulic Belouve

With Headset, it is detected, but Razer Synapse 2.0 won’t load, or crashes right after.  Have uninstalled/reinstalled, no luck.  Headset works, but no additional features available. Don’t worry, I’ll send them an email http://www.razersupport.com/email

Loving the headset! It’s perfect for everything I do. First surround sound headset I have owned and its just simply amazing!

One thing though, I wanted to get the best Equalizer Settings for F.P.S games (BF3, TF2, CS:S etc.) RPG games ( Witcher 2, Fable 3 etc.) and RTS/Action RTS (Dota 2, SC2, DoW II etc.)

I have been scouring the net for EQ settings and can’t find any, can anybody help out with this?
    Thanks in Advance :D

  • dmana

Is there an ETA on when the keyboards will be back in stock or are they out of print now?

  • Jhoira

I got the the same issue with my Razer Naga Hex. Synapse started updating the Firmware got stuck several times and after 40min. or so it just abruptly finished the process. Ever since my Naga Hex has been completely dead, no light no nothing. I’ve tried the hold the three buttons down while plugging it to the USB port but it is still tagged as an undetected device. I tried the manual firmware updater and it says that no device is detected. I’ve also uninstalled and re-installed Synapse multiple times as well as tried rebooting the computer, none of which have worked.

Getting frustrated over here, can’t believe an automatic update system which Razer has put into place is causing the hardware to break…. I’ve been buying only Razer products for the last 3-4 years or so but this is very disturbing.

I had troube at first generating the color crystal .. then all of a sudden it worked so I don’t know.. the mouse works good.. one more thought aobut the color crystal … IT IS AWSOME.. and the very best color in the game for what I have seen.. alot of peeps ask me where I got it..,.. the greatest down side IS THAT IT DON’T SCALE SO IS WORTHLESS LATER IN GAME… FOR THAT I GIVE IT A MAJOR DISCUSTING THUMBS DOWN!….
