Their last 7.1 headset was an overpriced price of crap. (I’m an owner). And they never mentioned that it was virtual surround. I would avoid razer headphones like the plague. Particually when they force you to use their crappy USB integrated sound card.

My brother uses a logitec one plugged into an old creative sound blaster, which is miles ahead of mine in terms of 3d sound and sound quality.

Haha! I own a Megalodon too, but I think completely otherwise, I own a pair of hd 550′s + a soundblaster titanium hd. Here is what I think, the Megalodons are better for plain old fps gaming with good precision audio. If I want fun and huge explosive bass with more colorful sound, I use the 550′s. Anyways, point is SOMEONE IS A RAZER HATER! Lol ;>

This better work with the 360 too or this is worthless to a lot of people. I do not want to have to buy multiple headsets to work with multiple devices when a device like a headset/headphones can easily work with a multitude of platforms these days. I really like these but they need to be able to work with 360 too and for others the ps3.

Seriously i picked a 7.1 audio card just for these. At least give us a date guys. Lets us know when we can start ordering them. Not saying i don’t love my megladon’s but simulated 5.1 vs real 7.1.

Every PC Gamer on the planet is waiting for these to be released so that they can buy them for Xmas. Dad of PC gamer wants to get these for their owning kids.

And all Razer do is sit there quietly without telling us, any details about when it’s going to be released.
Most gamers that I know were planning of getting these for Xmas, but since they are the “Razer fan” just like I’m and won’t spend their “Tiamat Cash”, guess what… We will get nothing under out Christmas tree :/ Seriously Razer think before you make clames of when you will relese the products!

Yeah, I’ve personally been holding out for these and could have accepted buying them after X-mas if Razer would at least speak up. But this silent treatment has been going on for much too long now, and Razer has blown it in the eyes of this customer. Already ordered a pair of Logitechs instead.

I didn’t go for any other’s as I play Counter Strike and positioning of opponents is vital to own so I will patiently wait until they are there to bu but since my Orca’s broke two weeks ago I have to play on some cheap F**ks in the meantime which is not ideal in any way :/

Razer, I was planning on purchasing this headset for Christmas, and have been planning on purchasing it since you announced it month’s ago. I’m a long-time Razer supporter, and love your products. But, the total silence on this release is rather disappointing, especially considering that you are still telling us the headset will be shipping in Q4 2011. We’re getting dangerously close to the end of the year.

Please, just tell us whether or not it comes out this year. I want to support you guys by buying these headphones, and I want to tell my friends on Christmas day just how awesome they are.

Finally Razer have announced that Tiamat will be released in end part of January :/

But on the up side these people who signed for to be notified of when it will be out, these people will get a T-shirt, flask and free shipments :D
So I guess that is kind of nice of Razer to make it up to us all fans

I used to have magalodons and they have just 2 speakers, where as the Tiamat will have 10, these will definitely help you tell where your opponents are if you are plain something like battlefield 3, Counter Strike, or even COD.

But these are my reasons for waiting, and it would be up to you to do so.

But in all seriousness, I just bought a $150 soundcard in preperation for these bad boys, sucked when they got delayed in december, but I was able to deal with it because they were probably only making them better but, now I’m just annoyed that they havn’t mentioned anything. If they are delayed, then they’re delayed. But atleast give us some info on the status of these awesome head phones.

Does Xbox 360 have analog sound outputs? No. Hence you cannot use the Tiamat with an Xbox 360 unless you redirect the Xbox 360 via HDMI through an amplifier that then has analog outputs.

I think its fair that you delay it for the perfection. Yet you shouldn’t go announce that it will be out in december, then telling at the end of january and now the end of february, and suddenly when released, it has been released 4 months after the initial date of release.

Make a god damn date for its release and try to stick it to that one. If the product is for example now extended to be done in september (example), then say it will be out in november to make sure that everything is perfect and ready. No one will be angry, because the initial date is in november and haven’t been extended.

You should really straighten up as this is not a way to do business tbh.

First you say its good that they delayed it, then you go on to say they shouldn’t of delayed 0_o

Fact of the matter is with any design project things can go wrong that were unforseen, the thing is we don’t know what caused the delay…for all we know a manufacturer of a sub assembly or component may have let down razer. I would say that whatever the reason for the delay, they have done admirably well in being upfront with their customers. Not only that but they are giving away freebies as a token of goodwill….not many companies I know of would make that sort of gesture.

Finally they said it would be released in february and oh look they still have 10 days to make good on that date, so lets all just be patient and let them finish it.

Nah… That is ok that it is delayed! it is not that they don’t want to make some profit on them lol XD So just let them improve it. It was very disappointing to buy Logitech G35 with their crappy new sound system (7.1)… Tiamat has a different approach for 7.1, so let them work and hope for success!

I’ve been waiting for this headset for 6 straight months with patience now, but i’m starting doubt wether to purchase this headset or not.. It should atleast be a little comforting if you could update us with any information about this headsets relase date sence you’ve pushed the “date” forward every month now for some time.. And the bottle/t-shirt + free shipping isn’t really working in the other countries than mentioned.

I’ve waited since late november for this, because my Piranha broke – I signed up, I recieved an email, and I tried to add it to my cart, but it never happend – 30min later now it’s out of stock and I have to wait another month? Isn’t there a wait list or something, so we actually have a chance to get one, when we’ve waited for so long – and have to wait again.

unlike many of you who have to wait, I can tell you first hand, this headset rocks for gaming!
but do please do the following steps…1- please use an external powerd usb hub to connect the tiamat for power (this prevents the buzzing sound in the headset
2- please make sure your computer is grounded (either through your wallsocket or a cheap speaker wire, one attached to your pc’s chassis, the other end to your house’s heater (radiator)
