2. Team Razer’s Reason Gaming wins Verygames to emerge as Champions for the CounterStrike Source Dreamhack 2009 tournament!

A great showing by Reason Gaming against all odds.

Reason.CSS entered Dreamhack having won their previous 5 LANs back to back (UKeSA, i37, BECUP, World Gamesmaster Tournament and i38) and were looking to make it 6 on the bounce and continue their dominant LAN results.

The group stage started out in less than ideal circumstances as a LAN Cafe in Stockholm which could not run CSS at 100 frames per second and the servers were lagging at times. Never the less the team buckled down and qualified from the groups with no hassle.

First up in the elimination stage was strongest Swedish team on show, Aimazing. The guys took care of business comfortably winning 16:12.

Next up  was the British number one team Power Gaming, featuring two former London MiNT CGS players. In an incredibly close game the guys held their nerve and came out as victors 16:14.

That meant the team qualified to the main Dreamhack tournament where in the Semi Finals they faced the Danish team The Imperial and defeated them without breaking a sweat 16:12 and 16:11.

In the Grand Final the guys played on stage in the Dream Arena with hundreds of spectators watching against European ranked number 1 team VeryGames from France. In another extremely close game Reason Gaming came out victors winning 16:8, 8:16 and 16:14 on the final map!

Good sportsmanship and handshakes going all around.
